  1. I don’t know if this is of any interest but this is the view to the south. Clear skies currently above.
  2. Brightening up nicely here with the sun finally making an appearance after today’s main band moved to the north. Hopefully this will provide some sufficient surface heating before the heavy showers move up here from the south. I’m just hoping they don’t fizzle out or loose intensity.
  3. Nothing more than a bit of moderate rain here although a lot more is needed as the ground is bone dry.
  4. Potential squall line being formed? Moving up into the East Midlands.
  5. I can’t see there being more than a few isolated thundery showers on Sunday/Monday but I’d be happy to be proved wrong.
  6. Full cloud cover here, even after the main band of rain has pushed to the north, so little chance of any surface heating. Some beefy looking showers coming up from the south west though probably won’t contain anything electrical.
  7. I’m guessing that’s it for now for these parts unless the stuff coming over from France will produce anything tonight?
  8. Light to moderate rain for around 5 to 10 minutes here in Leicester. Looks like showers are beginning to form down south heading NNW. Hopefully they intensify as they head north.
  9. A very imby post but what’s the potential looking like for the East Midlands tomorrow?
  10. Flooding in various parts of West Yorkshire and Lancashire today. Some road and rail services affected.
  11. Details are still uncertain but ECMWF is suggesting 60+ mph gusts for my location midday on Wednesday. Could an amber warning potentially be issued as details are being finalised?
  12. Looks like the strongest of winds is currently right over the East Midlands according to windy.com
  13. Pretty strong gusts just hitting us here in the Midlands. Seems to be getting increasing stronger and more frequent.
  14. This weekend is looking like a particularly wet one, though BBC text forecast says the complete opposite: ”Sunday will be largely dry with bright or sunny spells.”..?
  15. Feeling particularly warm in the sun by mid-afternoon today. Definitely no need for a coat whilst the sun is out anymore. Even if we do miraculously get some snowfall by the end of winter, I can’t see it staying around for long at all. Given the strength of the sun, it’ll be gone by 12:00.
  16. Lovely and sunny albeit quite hazy today and looking pleasantly sunny and quite warm over the next few days. I think most people by now are sick of this so called winter and it is pretty much over as far as I’m concerned. it looks very unlikely we’ll see any cold snaps/spell to support any snow. Roll on Spring. Winter has has its chance, and has failed epically.
  17. Lovely, pleasant weather today. Clear skies and a gentle breeze, feeling pleasantly warm in the sun. As far as I’m concerned, this failed winter can do one. I’m looking forward to more days like this. Also looking forward to just having one model discussion thread again, so it’s not bias on one specific weather pattern, with the other thread being near deserted/too strict.
  18. I think we shall all just accept the fact that it looks very unlikely that we’re going to get anything super cold and snowy by the end of winter. Roll on Summer searching for thunderstorms.
  19. I expect this forum to be very quiet come the end of the weekend. Probably back to one post per day, if that, due to the weather quieting down.
  20. Can’t see anything other than a few flakes at best for today and the next few days looks like it is going to get progressively milder so looks like our next chance of any snow is at least another week away.
  21. Not even the slightest hint of snow here in Leicester. Absolutely pathetic and by one of the worst winters so far for snow in the East Midlands.
  22. Looks like the light rain band just keeps fizzling out over Northampton and struggles to make it any further north. Though the heavier precipitation behind it looks interesting. Looks like its heading North/North West, hopefully it doesn't loose intensity and fizzle out.
  23. How far north is that heavy precipitation expected to travel, which is currently over the English Channel?
  24. The Tweet originates from somewhere in the South East, as says on Twitter.
