  1. Any chance of seeing or hearing anything thundery tonight? I see there’s a front approaching from the West.
  2. Please excuse my ignorance, but why don’t you want it to verify? Because you might miss out any potential storms or because of the disruption it could cause?
  3. Looks like there’s some pretty beefy showers developing in the West/South West now.
  4. The precipitation that's currently in the SW of the country, is that of any interest for us tonight or will it just be bog standard rain?
  5. Regarding Monday night into Tuesday, what’s the potential looking like? I notice BBC’s interactive map show a band of precipitation moving north east over the early hours however there’s no graphics or anything in the text forecast to back this up?
  6. What’s it looking like for Central areas tomorrow? I know the MO have issued a weather warning for thunderstorms but will it be the classic ‘thundery rain’ embedded with any heavier rain or will there be a mix of sunshine and showers? Thanks.
  7. Poor picture but there was definitely some rotation to the bottom of this. Passed over me now.
  8. I don't mean to veer off topic but with the dam at risk of collapse in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, what’s the rainfall looking like in that area for the next couple of days?
  9. Very torrential rain here in Leicester. Its been raining non-stop all day, varying between heavy and light, but I'd love to see how much we've had in the last 24 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if it was near what the NW has had recently!
  10. I don’t think it’s the sun itself, but it’s the extreme temperatures and high humidity that people don’t like (myself included). If it was ‘normal’ temperatures, such as the low 20’s, you wouldn’t get half the amount of complaints It has however been particularly wet over the past 24 hours, especially in areas where the rain hasn’t stopped at all, such as here. Good for the vegetation and keeping any droughts from being a problem however!
  11. It’s been raining pretty much non stop since last night here. What’s unusual is that looking on the radar, the band of rain just keeps on growing and expanding right over Leicester?
  12. Is there any potential of seeing anything thundery next week? Looks like there will be a lot of showers, some possibly heavy, and sunny intervals in between.
  13. Just had some light rain here in Leicester. The first bit of precipitation we've had all day.
  14. Looks like a few showers are developing in the English Channel?
  15. I assume there's no chance of the spine of the country in seeing any action tonight? Everything is either to the east of west of us.
  16. Anyone referring to BBC online forecasts, they have already got it wrong for my location so I wouldn’t pay too much attention to their graphics. They have got me under wall to wall sunshine for the whole day, but this has popped up...
  17. I’d rate last nights storm a 6/10. Lots of cloud to cloud lightning but very little cloud to ground lighting observed. Very little in the way of thunder itself too. Passed through relatively quick too although it gave the ground a much needed shower as that lasted a for quite a while after the storm had passed over. Don’t know what to make out for tomorrow. Under a warning for thunderstorms although I suspect the main action will possibly be further east.
  18. So I'm located well in the moderate and severe range. Be interesting to see how this will pan out... Could this be more widespread than we were expecting it to be?
  19. Being located pretty much in the middle of the Midlands the storms always seem to bypass us to the East or West. Though I’m hoping this will be a large cluster of storms, spread out over a large area, rather than a thin line of precipitation.
  20. The South East (Kent in particular), South Coast and parts of Eastern England and Scotland have seen the most activity this year. Everywhere else has has been an utter bore fest.
