  1. Another Leicestershire cell in the making. Currently to the SE of the city.
  2. That Leicestershire cell looks to be really intensifying. Also, showers are developing a lot more widespread today as well as earlier on in the day compared to yesterday.
  3. You’ve got your own little lightning display happening - from the pantograph of your 323
  4. Would this result in a big thunderstorm potential given the massive differences in temperatures, providing there’s low pressure nearby?
  5. Apologies if this sounds like a noob question but does moisture in the ground/vegetation have any contribution to thunderstorm development the following day? I ask because it has rained quite a bit here tonight, although I don’t know if/what changes that makes to anything regarding development?
  6. The Leicester cell certainly gave a few surprises as well as some great lightning and cloudscape shots. Lets hope we have a more widespread, more intense repeat tomorrow!
  7. Despite the threatening sky, the main action passed to the south and west of me. Just light to moderate rain now. What is the threat looking like tomorrow?
  8. Its definitely intensifying. Have a look at the rain radar. Seen a few more distant flashes as it approaches.
  9. Just saw a flash of lightning from this, which is approaching from the SE Midlands.
  10. So this has been intensifying in the last few frames and is heading in a general NNW direction. Will I finally break my thunder drought??
  11. Looks like the exact same thing is happening today as it did yesterday - storms developing a few miles north of here and then intensifying as they move north. There must be some sort of explanation to this behaviour?
  12. Thanks. Looks like it'll be a repeat of Saturday, with everything heading into the West Midlands and here staying dry.
  13. What and where is the eastern extent of this looking like, may I ask? Yesterday everything bypassed us to the west, giving the West Mids all the fun.
  14. That's exactly what happens here. Always in the middle of nothingness. Today everything developed quite literally over us and headed northwest.
  15. Looks like everything is developing right over me for everyone else to enjoy. Day X of another disappointment
  16. Seems our side of the Midlands (East) has been really unlucky over the past few years compared to the West Midlands. We seem to only get anything from a direct southerly.
  17. Seems pretty unfortunate for anyone east of Leicester as everything seems to fizzle out as it moves northwards or skirts past to the west. Hopefully this will change.
  18. Those cells moving north out of London look interesting. I wonder if they'll merge into something more organised?
  19. Hopefully means a better chance for us living further east.
  20. Think its far too early to be looking at next week. We've still got today (Saturday) to get through No doubt those charts and values will be massively downgraded come nearer the time.
  21. All eyes on the radar again tomorrow. Automated forecasts proving useless as per usual in these situations. Here (Leicester) and Wolverhampton have identical forecasts according to BBC weather online despite being 40 or so miles apart.
  22. Lets hope the morning isn't plagued with stubborn thick cloud. I'm hoping for a decent amount of sunny weather to allow lots of surface heating. Low 20's forecast widely so should be able to spark something off providing things go to plan (which is rare I must admit).
  23. If this was inland as opposed to being out in the North Sea, who wants to bet that it'd just loose intensity and fizzle out as it moves northwards?
