  1. 15 degrees here with a moderate northeasterly breeze. Much more comfortable conditions compared to recent days.
  2. Lovely cool breeze now setting in. Much better than the hot and muggy nonsense some people crave over.
  3. Some of these comments are uncalled for. If people get excited over the potential of storms in the coming days, then let them continue to do so. Sometimes things don’t materialise. Disappointment is inevitable. There’s no need for any lectures. After all this is a discussion thread. People are bound to talk about what may or may not happen ahead of time.
  4. Probably going to get shot down for saying this but the only good thing about this type of weather is the potential thundery breakdown at the end of it
  5. BBC automated weather is showing thundery showers for tomorrow evening for here although I won’t take too much notice of it as it changes every couple of hours.
  6. Can only go off the controversial BBC forecast but it says 28 degrees. Each hour it keeps changing with the sun symbol changing to cloudy/partly cloudy.
  7. For Western and Central areas I should have added. I didn’t release it’d be this cloudy, was under the impression it’d only be partly cloudy. Full cloud cover here.
  8. Lots of cloud approaching in from the SW now. I think the models overestimated top temperatures and underestimated cloud cover?
  9. Not even into the weekend yet and we’re already seeing small showers develop when it was initially looking to be fairly settled for today. I have a good feeling next week will be spectacular for thunderstorms.
  10. Looks like there could be some isolated showers tomorrow, forming in the SW and heading northwards through the afternoon and evening. Perhaps one or two surprises for some locations tomorrow?
  11. It’s been the opposite here. Sunny in the morning but dull with thick cloud now. Thick enough to produce some light drizzle.
  12. How long until they break out further north and west, just like they did last time?
  13. BBC automated forecasts have downgraded the heat for my location and is now showing increased cloud and/or rain. Perhaps the heat won’t be as widespread as we originally thought it would be?
  14. @TJS1998Tom Use a rain radar to track the direction of storms as opposed to using lightning maps. That way you can tell if it’s heading your way or not.
  15. Strange how none of the models forecast the heaviest precipitation to be for Central England? Looked completely dry on what I saw posted in here.
  16. Wind is starting to pick up here and blue skies have gone into almost full cloud cover.
  17. There’s more to it than it says on paper (or online in this case). You could have a totally dry month(s) followed by a couple of days of heavy rainfall, making it look like you’ve had average rainfall for the month. The reality on ground is that this won’t really change things. Runoff is a factor as the soil would be bone dry, so the ground and plants cannot take advantage of this. A steady, but in no means a washout, pattern of rain is much more useful than weeks upon end of boiling weather, followed by a deluge at the end of it.
  18. Photo doesn’t do its justice but there’s some interesting cloudscapes in the distance. Looks like there’s a squall lime moving in from the SW.
  19. It’s almost as if the SE has a lot more in common with the near continent weather wise as opposed to the rest of the country. I’m hearing the grass is dry and yellow down south, yet here it is lovely and green. Just sums up the difference in the amount of rain places have had!
  20. They don’t say it’s best in the SE for nothing!
