    It’s been below freezing all day here in Leicester, with freezing fog not diminishing either. This was at 10 o’clock this morning.

    If anything, I just want a cold, crisp and dry period. These marginal snow events don’t really interest me, especially with how saturated the ground is, with flooding in places.

    Am I the only one who, personally, things this is being ramped up a bit too much? The most I am expecting is a bit of wet snow at best. certainly not expecting anything to settle. If it was 0 degrees or so, then yes, I’d be more excited. But it looks like it’ll just be a wet, cold end to the day.

    Hi. Is there any way to extend the comment section? The formatting of the page results in a quarter of the screen is took up by a blank space on the right hand side. Hiding the drop down menu should automatically extend the page to full length I would’ve thought. Thanks.

    Just had one of the most intense squall lines I’ve experienced pass through. From calm to a full on deluge with ferocious gusts on its arrival.

    Consistent drizzle/light rain here since midday thanks to that Cheshire streamer, keeping everything wet.

    Just when you think you’re out of the rain band more develops and strengthens from the east. What causes this?

    This countrywide band of rain which is currently rotating, am I right to think that it will swirl round and head back east/south east later on this evening?

    Barely a drop of rain here so far. Think the northerly extent of this system was overestimated as yesterday it was forecast to rain here pretty much all day.

    A day of sunshine and showers with a fresh breeze. Lovely (as long as you don’t get caught out in a shower!) Much more bearable and enjoyable than muggy days and nights. That’s what summer is for
