  1. London and the South in general has done a lot better than areas further North, particularly the North West.
  2. I find it quite funny that a few people in the MOD thread are saying it hasn't been as bad of a July that people are making it out to be. Almost saying that people are over exaggerating. However most of these people saying this are based in the South East, where they usually get their own micro-climate of weather compared to the rest of the country. Today is a good example, where almost everywhere apart from the SE has been plagued with thick cloud.
  3. Another total cloud fest here today. Made worse with it feeling very humid and mild. Its so bad, that it can’t even rain, despite all this thick cloud.
  4. Any turbulence weather on the horizon, be it heavy rain or strong winds? It’s been a total cloud fest and dare I say pretty boring.
  5. Seems to be a reoccurring theme of sunny early on in the morning, followed by thick cloud dominating all the way until the evening, with an hour or so of sunny intervals, back to thick cloud. The worse thing is that it doesn’t produce anything, no rain or even drizzle. Very much ‘nothingness’ for several days.
  6. A very rough estimate and nowhere near perfect but generally I’d say over the past month of so, anywhere below the red line has got the best of conditions including the amount of sun/highest temperatures, least amount of rain and cloud levels. Above the red line it has been quite the opposite.
  7. Was sunny here in the morning however thick cloud has arrived. Feeling muggy and looking dull Rain incoming from the west.
  8. Persistent drizzle here in the Midlands. Just when you think it’s clearing away, it back builds or builds right over you. Haven’t seen the sun in days and there hasn’t been a long enough period to dry things out since Monday.
  9. It's certainly been a damp 48 plus hours for any of us living north of London. Look at that large swath of heavy rain running west to east further north. It'll be interesting to see some rainfall totals over the past few days.
  10. Looking outside you really wouldn’t think it’s summer, yet alone July. Feels more like late autumn to me. It’s not even the rain that’s too much of a problem, but more of the heavy, consistent drizzle which keeps everything wet.
  11. Just wow... No change in temperature for several hours as well as being very below average for early July.
  12. Blowing a gale out there and I'm far from the worst affected areas. Probably 'feels' and 'sounds' worse than it actually is as trees are in full leaf. Definitely feels like autumn as opposed to high summer. Tomorrow looks like to be a repeat of today.
  13. I think there was generally too much capping going on today. Also the storms modeled to move from SW to NE never materialized.
  14. Looks like this plume is going to go out with a whiff for us that haven’t seen anything today so far. Currently near blue skies and what seems like an increasing breeze. Doesn’t feel stormy at all.
  15. How’s it looking for the East Midlands in relation to this? Thanks.
  16. Thursday looks like a deluge for much of the Midlands. Perhaps some thundery showers on the back end of it if the sun manages to break out.
  17. Doesn't look too inspiring for tomorrow although I could be wrong. To me it looks like it is going to be wet, dull and murky for most places. Limited sunshine where/if cloud breaks.
  18. Can’t really complain but I think a lot of places which received lightning and thunder would’ve done a lot better if we had some decent surface heating today. We only seemed to have limited sunshine today thanks to the stubborn cloud, though it was surprising that cells could still produce and grow in size. Possibly due to higher temperatures down south/south east?
  19. Looks like we could be in for round two, with further heavy rain coming in from the east.
  20. Great thunderstorm here in Leicester. Squally winds and heavy rain. Deep rumbles of thunder and lightning, although probably only once or twice and minute.
  21. For some reason Twitter media does not play within inside these forums. You have to click on the link/video for then it to redirect you to Twitter, in order for it to play. Not sure if you need an actual Twitter account for this.
  22. Looks like it split as it went over us which resulted in very little rain and only a few rumbles of thunder and lightning. Pretty unlucky with that as it looked amazing on the radar.
