First rumble of thunder heard here in Leicester. Not sure if its from the cell to the north of us but the sky is looking pretty dark and the wind is increasing.
First time I’ve heard this word being used this year. “Sunday will have some sunshine but cloud will tend to develop, bringing the chance of showers or even thunderstorms”
Let’s hope it materialises!
How far in advanced do deep areas of low pressure start to show on the models? I ask because I have an outdoor event in the NW (Manchester) on Saturday the 14th. I assume it’s too early to know at this stage?
These Atlantic storms provide us with more excitement than the recent (lack of) snowfall across our region
(Not the disruption associated with it of course)
From the comments of disappointment I gather quite a few members on here live in the South East although it doesn’t look too bad for us living in in the Midlands.
I think it’s too early to dismiss any flooding possibilities. Especially due to the lag effect of water reaching lower levels and there is also heavy rain forecast tonight/tomorrow morning. Not sure how far north it’ll reach, however.
Looking at the radar there’s a lot of very heavy rain in the north and north west. Nothing really noticeable further south bar the extreme south east/east.
According to the forecast there should be heavy rain for most parts of the country overnight and into the early hours of tomorrow. I suspect it is too early for this to be showing on the radar at this stage.
