  1. I think it'll just be mostly heavy rain. Was only infrequent lightning and a couple of 'wet' sounding thunder here.
  2. Dare I say some Central and Northern/Eastern areas now have a better chance vs what was predicted by the models this evening? More of a Northerly tracking?
  3. I’ve seen so many conflicting posts before the show has even started - some are saying it’s a no show, others saying it’ll only be a Kent clipper, limited lightning etc. Surely it’s too early to say anything at this point?
  4. From an IMBY perspective I’m hoping the storms will be a little further West, as I fear they’ll skirt to the East of here.
  5. Interestingly, from what I initially thought was going to be a SE/Kent Clipper type of event, now seems to be the opposite? Main area of interest seems to be heading straight up in a Northerly/NNE direction, into the spine of the country? Could there be some unexpected surprises?
  6. A nice, heavy downpour we've just had here in Leicester. Nothing convective but still nice to see, hear and smell nonetheless.
  7. Anyone think the Met Office underestimated this storm? It seems extremely windy right now!
  8. Wind seems to be picking up here quite substantially now. Definitely seems to have made itself known IMBY compared to Eunice.
  9. Very poor warning coverage on behalf of the Met Office today. Various roads and railway lines blocked in Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds, as well as other places, due to flooding. Should've issued an amber warning.
  10. It would be ironic if this hits us harder than Storm Eunice did. IMBY Eunice was just standard winter weather.
  11. What do the next few days have in store for the UK? Obviously not as bad as today has been, I imagine?
  12. Seems like a total non event here in the Midlands. Just seems like a regular windy day?
  13. I wouldn’t trust BBC automated forecasts. They still have me for 68mph gusts for here in Leicester.
  14. Trees are starting to come down all over the place across the rail network. The concerning thing is it is happening outside of the warning areas, so it does not bode well at all for anyone wanting to travel on Friday.
  15. I think quite a lot of people are going to be caught out by this if it materialises as to what the charts are showing. They will either be oblivious and/or ignore the warnings and just class it as ‘another windy day’. Inland areas will be the most affected, as we are not used to experiencing such high gusts.
  16. Looks like we’ll finally get some ‘interesting’ weather soon after weeks of ‘nothingness’. Typical that it happens so late in winter.
  17. Constant drizzle and fog for what seems like days now. Everything is permanently damp as a result.
  18. Looks like parts of the West Midlands, Warwickshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire have done well out of this!
  19. Anyone else’s lights flickering very momentarily and irregularity?
  20. Despite the precipitation charts showing very little rainfall for a large part of the country, it seems like it’s been permanently wet on the ground here. Lots of drizzle and/or light rain. Certainly no ‘drought’ conditions!
