  1. I’m not too bothered about how hot or cold it’ll feel. I’m more concerned about how much rain we’ll get once the mild SW feed takes over? The models look very dry away from western areas for the majority of the country, yet some are saying Atlantic lows will barrel through? Confused.com
  2. Looks like this is going be yet (another) non-event. A whimper of a cold spell with it being mostly dry and cloudy before more unsettled and much milder weather pushes its way through. More relentless wind and rain on the way? Probably…
  3. Under a blanket of thick cloud with drizzle and feeling chilly. Yuck.
  4. I think the MAD thread should be renamed to the SE thread. When snow is showing for Midlands and Northern areas they throw their toys out the pram but when a favourable chart appears for them the whole crowd cheers…
  5. Looks like it’s another week of settled weather before the Atlantic is knocking on our doors from the SW. Enjoy the (sometimes) sunny and calm weather whilst you can methinks…
  6. I’ve purposely avoided the MAD thread due to constant one liners, ramps and the same charts being posted around 100 times when it goes live. Going through several pages was honestly draining and I’m glad I no longer go through it as it’s improved my mood considerably. From what I can see, it’s going to get colder, drier, with the possibility of there being sunny spells. But that’s about it, none of this ‘DEEP FREEZE/INTO THE FREEZER’ nonsense. Just cooler and calmer weather. Some posters on Twitter are also notorious for ramping things up, too.
  7. I know you shouldn’t pay too much attention to automated weather forecasts but I’m seeing a gradual change from sunny spells to full dull cloudy days. Is this going to be a ‘not quite as cold and sunny as first expected’ type of spell?
  8. Today is the first time in ages we’ve actually had some ‘proper’ spells of sun. Nice and calm which is something we’ve not seen in a while.
  9. Given all the rain we’ve had, as well as endless cloudy and dull days, I think it’ll be welcome by many. Be nice to see a bit of sun at the very least.
  10. Quite worrying that there’s still model disagreement on its track. AROME/APERGE take it as far north as the East Midlands and into Lincolnshire.
  11. Very heavy rain here in Leicester. The rain has been non-stop since 10 o'clock this morning!
  12. I’ve noticed the SE tends to have its own ‘microclimate’. Coincidentally, on quite a few occasions, the SE can have completely different weather conditions compared to the rest of the country. In regards to rain, most places will be under rain, whereas the SE remains dry or vice versa, where they will be affected by weather from the near by continent.
  13. …and Just like that, we now have rain and wind warnings for tonight and tomorrow.
  14. What the Met Office are saying at this moment in time:
  15. Tomorrow looks absolutely grim for a large part of the country.
  16. Last time I checked the MO were forecasting for all that rain to clear the South Coast by lunch time. Typical how it trends north and sticks around.
  17. Explain why to us fellow simpletons. What would the conditions on ground be like off that chart?
  18. Didn’t notice the one we had today and probably won’t notice tomorrow’s. Do we really need to have named storms for every time it gets a bit windy?
  19. This map says it all I think. More rain due widely on Thursday and into the weekend.
  20. So much for the cold air not being easily able to be pushed away by the Atlantic… The Atlantic will ALWAYS find a way through, as that’s our default weather pattern. It seems no amount of blocking will prevent it and milder air getting through.
  21. Normal service has resumed here in the Midlands. Cold, grey and very wet. In fact we have several hours of rain forecast from now until Tuesday. Grim.
