  1. Oo! Congrats in advance!! Hope all goes well for your day, and the new life that will follow for you
  2. ! Id add that I'd totally share my storms with those who like them of course! Those who dislike them, we will keep your share. Because we are caring like that
  3. I agree. Like I said, storms overnight. Elevated are pretty but on a hot day rain may evaporate before doing anything useful
  4. Hot and dry by day, big elevated storms bringing rain and cooler temps at night then back to hot and dry would be ideal personally. Chuck in a few imported MCS.. I don't want much do I
  5. Lovely. Another soaking cycle into work this morning it looks like. I just LOVE cycling in rain and getting drenched by rain, puddles, vehicles. Its the most perfect bestest start to the day WOOHOO
  6. Good morning all. A slushy covering on pavements and a covering on grass for myself but pleased to wake up and see folks here have snow settled! Enjoy
  7. I do think I (and hopefully all of us) will wake to some kind of lying snow given its cold and dry. Part of me wants to stay up radar watching but 3am ish (imo) is too late. Goodnight all and good luck coldies. Look forward to snow pics in the morning
  8. The arome 12z for 7am you mentioned in the mod seems similar to the met perhaps? If that chart happened, that will be a nightmare rush hour, and school runs possibly.
  9. Had some brief sleet a while ago. Temps dropping but felt surprisingly "mild" earlier this morning I thought. Was expecting it to feel cold
  10. This is true. But even just the broader picture, the differences I find surprising at this range
  11. Have the models ever struggled at such a short time frame? This is becoming a nowcast instead of a forecast if there's no agreement by the 06 runs
  12. As a late 80s / early 90s kid in medway, snow back then was amazing. Curtain twitching through the night and getting told to go to sleep by the parents. Woke up at 6am once after a really thick knee deep snowfall! Running up the garden and up the road, saw the pure whiteout in the distance and ran back scared I'd be unable to find my way home. Weirdly I don't remember the 1987 snow event!! But I would've been about 4 so...
  13. A good question too. Knowing the luck we have come to experience, far enough to make it a snow to rain event
  14. Some happy southerners in mod. Meto update this morning... Outlook for Monday to Wednesday: Monday mainly cloudy with a few light showers. Tuesday rain clears south, then cold and dry with bright perhaps sunny spells. Wednesday chance of outbreaks of snow spreading northeast later.
  15. Based on the mod thread, there is a consistent theme of low pressure in the North Sea, coupled with the cold weather alert mentioning the same LP. Should be an interesting 1st half to the week Now if only we had £1 for everytime the mod thread mentioned about strength of the sun and lying snow....
  16. North Sea slider low perhaps that sounds like to me? They are nice snowmakers
  17. Interesting meto forecast update today. Surprising no one else mentioned this yet Weather and climate change WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office weather forecasts for the UK. World leading weather services for the public.
  18. -16 windchill.. that's not jff.. that's madness. Thankfully like you say, unlikely and will be gone next run. If that materialised, that would be very dangerous to health
  19. The mod thread says with an ssw we can expect nervous breakdowns in the models.. surely that's meant to read as "the models output discussion posts". The poor mods will be busy
