Forget more snow. Bring on the thaw. Cant wait for summer
-
What's the chance of seeing some sun in the next few hours?
-
Despite temps and full cloud cover, thaw setting in. Roads and pavements virtually clear

I don't think ive ever seen snow accumulate this fast before, in the space of about 2 hours 3 - 5cm has fallen, some exceptionally heavy snowfall about and BBC weather has just said the West Midlands could still have quite a lot of snow falling even at 9am, this could turn into a major event.
Where's @WalsallWeather123, as they said we would only have a couple of cm's from this?
3cm on roads here. A tiny bit more on grass but I can still see the top of the grass so not a lot really at all.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Those in Bham/Black Country will be disappointed. Max 2cm overnight. Mock me all you want but the majority of the time I'm right

Be prepared to be disappointed. Max 1-2cm, locally maybe 3-4cm. Models will also correct southwards
-
ECM T96 will not verify. Colder air will go further south into Europe if anything, not north like it's showing

Much better HIRLAM much more widespread... given current obs I bet it will be more right.
Well the Hirlam was wrong. You call yourself thesnowdreamer. Youre predictions must be the most bias ever. And dont say i predicted the cold spell last week because of SSW the cold spell was odds on anyway. And it wasnt as prolonged as you said

Already bored with this milder weather. Don't understand people cheering the prospect of mild weather at this time of year. It's not real warmth. It's not like it's 20 degrees+ and sunny. It's 7 degrees and dreary.
When this dude moans about milder weather no one cares. When I moan about cold weather everyone jumps on me. The cold bias is ridiculous

Well actually these temps have caused burst water pipes, flooding issues as well. Even more issues then last week.
Due to the freezing temps last week. If that never occured nor would have the burst pipes etc

Loool. As a whole for society in every possible way, safety being the main thing, this weather is better than last week. No denying that
-
People should be grateful for milder weather. Much better for society as a whole, particularly for the homeless and elderly. Here in the Midlands, this cold spell has lead no water in places, gas supplies running low, schools closed, people stuck in their cars in for over 20 hours. And some behave like 5 year old kids when they see snow falling and have no care for anyone else.

Got any sun yet?
Nope. Fog gone but still dark clouds.

What's the chance of seeing some sun today? Very foggy at the moment

Precipitiation appears to be weakening as it reaches Bham on radar

BBC forecast for Coventry was light snow starting at 8:00pm,which is not too bad, METO way of the mark, what about METO for you?
Heavy snow from 9pm which is more accurate than BBC just slighly too late

For the past few days, have made comparisons between METO and BBC weather forecasts (short-term only), surprisingly BBC have been spot on for my region. Don't know about any of you guys?
Well BBC are saying sleet for Walsall for next few hours when it's clearly snow as per reports and radar. But generally I agree, in short term (2-3 days), BBC have been better. They just don't like comitting on long term forecasts
-
Snow/Sleet expected in Bham around 20:00-20:30. Precipitation looks heavy on radar, some yellow, orange and a bit of red so could quite quickly add to accumulation if it doesn't die down

Not what Susan Powell said. Rain will cause rapid thaw were her exact words

Anyone else getting a bit sick of this now? Bring on Sunday and rain. On a side note, how this wasn't an amber is ridiculous from met office.
