    Croydon Council highways division have a MetO radar monitoring system. The staff can keep an eye on developments and can call the MetO's hotline at any time. The top man at the Council decided to send out the gritters earlier based on my Yamkin style intervention

    Council will not be happy with the MetO's forecast, hence no gritters

    Take a look at the ppn pepping up around the NW part of France and heading in a NE direction. No wonder the MetO are uncertain. SE could be in for a surprise

    There's ppn in the SW which is heading in ENE direction. Worth keeping an eye on as it could veer towards the SE

    Hi JP, Have you noticed the Greenland High developing. Be interested in your thoughts on this later tonight as I believe this high will establish itself.........(Bitter cold to return early Feb?)

    Better look out of your window because the ppn which was moving away from our areas has actually pushed back and the snow is getting heavy again

    Even I am very surprised it is still snowing in Croydon. The radar shows ppn slightly to our West that came from ???? I have this feeling we have more snow to come tonight.

    Hi JP, Have you seen how the ppn moves away from Croydon and then slightly to the West, ppn just appears. I've got this feeling there is more snow tonight

    JP, Have you noticed the ppn is being shunted and pushing back towards Croydon. This is truly amazing Still snowing here and temp is -2c

    It's -2c here Snow slowed down a bit after the hour or so intense downpour and now it's heavy again

    Snow Ploughs have been fitted to many of the gritters and the teams are working flat out
