Blooming cold wind today yet temps are currently 11C. Don't understand as it was breezy and it surprised me how cold it felt........more rain on the way and warmer weather on Sunday......lovely. Feet up in front of the box tonight with a glass of vino........supplies running dangerously low now!

Another decent day........brisk breeze but the sun shone for most of it .

No visit to Glen Cannich for me today, too busy packing HC, all must be finished by this weekend. Enjoy your curry and been.............and even more the return of the prodigal son!

Beautiful sight!!! Ben Wyvis looking resplendent with snow down to possibly 1000feet. Surrounding mountains also have a thick white coat. Current temp 2.9C and sky is clearing.

Very windy, with sleet mixed in with the heavy rain showers today and snow falling in Cairngorms. Ben Wyvis is also white on the top. Temps have risen a little, now 7C

Hi IF..... We have just been talking about the prospect of early snow again. We are travelling south on 7th November to catch the Ferry........may actually leave the day before just in case! This current cold incursion wont affect us, but no doubt will have my other half cursing if he has to clear the snow even just once this winter! I on the other hand, wont mind seeing a nice wee covering just once before I leave. Welcome back to the winter regulars. Been raining heavily on and off all night, temps still 5C

11.20pm and now 5C and some heavy showers...........brrrrrrrrrrrrr feels even colder. Def a smell of snow in the air!

I did laugh when i read this! A niece who was horrified at me moving to France actually said to me "What if the apocalypse happens when you are there?" My reply ......It wont matter a damn where I am when that occurs, the result would be the same! Don't mind if it snows this coming week....the colder weather will help kill a few bugs, both human and otherwise. Lovely day yesterday and reasonable temps today at 13C although it clouded over.

Yes the DE is back on the mini ice age story again and I resisted buying the paper when i was out today!! 5C up here and feeling very cold now, apparently feeling like 1C with wind chill factor. Showers forecast over the next few hours. Really cold weather moving in on Sunday. I am sure I will see snow outside my window before i leave!!

Daily Express is at it again with forecast of -20C!!! Highly unlikely except in the most remote areas in mid winter. Back to a 'will we/wont we' have a harsh winter again? Last year started with early snow but the rest of the year was fairly average. Today is dreich miserable day with drizzle and temps of 9C. Snow forecast on the mountain tops tonight. Some heavy blustery showers at the moment and temps 9C.

Aye more windy showery weather........today being a prime example with temps at 13C and more of the same forecast.

A howling gale for most of today........turning cooler tonight 10C and feels a lot colder.

No yet HC. End of the month we are off to Skye for a couple of days......then depart Inverness on 7th November for France. I suspect the swallows will have beaten me.......

Drizzly grey morning has turned into a very calm warm sunny afternoon 16C. Looking towards the Black Isle and the sea is 'mill pond' calm.......quite beautiful More rain tomorrow..........sigh!
