  2. Was at Ullapool, Gairloch and Torridon today...weather was fantastic. Back home and its grey 15C and drizzly. Yuck!!
  3. Been a reasonable day, now 18C and still overcast. Reasonably warm for the rest of the week with the risk of showers possibly thundery.
  4. We have reached 22C with slight breeze .........great day.
  5. Wall to wall blue skies....and the promise of reasonably high temps for up here.....maybe 22C
  6. This morning at Dunrobin Castle was not pleasant.....cold wind blew in off the sea. This afternoon was lovely and would have been the perfect day if two Tornados had not buzzed us on the Dornoch Firth Bridge!!! I was having a little nap on the way back when rudely woken up (no I was not driving) and I heard an huge roar directly overhead and then saw the Tornado flip a wing at me!! Yep........he got us! Ah well I live to tell the tale, weather pleasant but not warm with temps now 16C.
  7. Beautiful sunny morning......11C with the promise of at least 18C later in the day!
  8. Nice day with glimpses of sunshine. I am still suspicious of us getting a hot spell next week....further west and south maybe and down south almost certainly. Up here we may get a couple of reasonable days towards the end of next week. I will be happy with high teens and dry!
  9. Just hope it applies to the Inverness area too........we have the Highland Show on and I don't want to be soaked!!! Fingers crossed. Still grey 14C
  10. Bloomin grey damp and miserable.......hmmph so much for wishful thinking! 13C and still very grey.
  11. My day off and it is a grey morning with large black clouds looming. 14C Edit. Just had a quick look at the radar and the showers are going directly south so may be lucky and remain dry!
  12. Me too SS.......the areas hit up here in Inverness are just down the hill from me!! Drying out nicely now...... sun is warm....so here's hoping it continues to dry out!
  13. Torrential rain during the night. The burn at the back of the house sounds like a waterfall!! Dry this morning.....16C still looking as though we could have a few more showers.
  14. Stair rods for the past hour!!! After the dry few days we had it saved me the job of topping up the pond...... Temp 17C
  15. My Daughters are 44 and 41......Granddaughters are 23 and 21.......i so miss the days of little ones. My oldest g/daughter gets married next March so maybe I will have the pleasure of Great Grand Children in 18 months or so!!! I would add I am not that old.....I had my family young. Do you abbreviate Kathleen's name SS? I hate it when people do that. Such a feminine pretty name. I'm thinking your quote would apply to most cities up until the 60's when they were shrouded in smog! The sky is full of dark clouds...very dark tonight.
  16. Lovely Scottish names..... Is .the baby getting near 18 months now? Time flies. Grey wet and very humid feeling now.
  17. Boy Catch, Wee Boy Catch and Baby Catch(Previously known as Bump Catch)
  18. Oh i do hope you and Mrs Catch have some nice days with the three Catch boys!!! Fingers crossed that it is just a little glitch eh. Raining here......temps dropped to 14C
  19. Oh dear....thats all we need at this time of year. Winter yes........summer no! Temps 18C and overcast.......generally not too bad at all.
  20. I drive a Landrover and take nothing to do with tyres.......that's OH's repsonsibility! Although I do hear him moaning about the price of them...... He wanted a 4X4 so he pays the price...... Personally I try and stay indoors when the weather gets iffy! I know, I know, not everyone gets the opportunity to do that. Fantastic morning with blue skies....cloudy over this afternoon. Current temps 21C
  21. Aye SS.....the Hairy Celt is oor one man defense of the Highlands! Just watch out when he has been under the floor boards..... he becomes quite unbeatable then. He will take on anything and win!
  22. Cracking day.......18C time to enjoy a bit of gardening.
