  1. Better day after a horrendous day yesterday......just a couple of heavy showers when going down to Perth today. So looking forward to this heatwave we MIGHT HAVE next week....lololol Nights are pulling in and its dusk at 7,20pm
  2. Never too old Blitzen........i am in my early 60's.......its now or never for me. Not sure where we will end up but we are going to tour France for 6 months and then decide where we will settle! I am really looking forward to the adventure, even if i will have to expand on my French fast!! LOL Thank you for your kind words Cheggers and NL...I will certainly do my best to send some sunshine up your way. A dull day with a couple of very light showers. Cloudy now and 11C
  3. Bright autumnal morning, no wind or rain for a change with temps at 3C! More rain forecast later.
  4. Current temps 9C and occasional showers.Feels quite cool in the wind. Like the birds we will be migrating south to France to live at the end of October having sold up. All busy busy just now decluttering and starting to pack up. I will be sorry to leave the forum but with permission will drop in from time to time to say hello. I will continue to post until i actually go.
  5. Heard it was pretty bad in the Edinburgh area. Nothing to speak of here.........just a bit of breeze and a few showers. I agree NL..........being baled naked must have been damned uncomfortable!!!
  6. Breezy this afternoon and a couple of showers. Like most of you, interested to see how Katia pans out tomorrow afternoon/evening/night depending on where you live! No doubt the garden will taken a pummelling.
  7. What a dreich day!!! Temps now sitting at 12C and it feels more like autumn. Winter is looming fast so looking at a couple of weeks in the sun for November.......but where is still to be decided. Och Wet West it must be a real worry! Driving on the Black Isle today we saw several fields still to be harvested. Hope you get a better outlook for next week.
  8. So sorry for you farmers, this very damp weather is a nightmare. Still loads of fields around with no harvesting done .......in some places the crop appeared to be flattened! Temps have been better today at 18C, but again we have had a couple of heavy showers. Sky clearer now so maybe dry tomorrow. Good luck! I doubt one more cut will suffice Cheggers.......don't pack your mower away just yet......
  9. Been almost October feeling over the past week. I do hope you get your harvest in NL. Nice pics Lorenzo! I saw some other fantastic ones of lightning storms on netweather from Arizona. Its been another dull grey day but not quite so cold but more heavy rain come morning. Help...... I am depressed. Just planning a wee break in the sun before the winter comes......not sure where yet.
  10. Dry day........heavy and overcast now 16C Thanks for the info Cheggers I hope the sky clears for later..
  11. No space station viewing tonight!!! 12C and Cloudy now.......... Similar day tomorrow with south easterly winds and maybe the odd shower.
  12. Welcome to the thread Coldest Winter. We will be looking for a cold winter......and certainly a snowy one!
  13. No showers here HC........been a lovely day working in the garden! Bit of a breeze which hasn't been unpleasant.
  14. Lovely, sunny day.....albeit with a brisk breeze. Temps 18C
  15. Another dreich day! 13C ........I am truly fed up. Like others my only successful crop this year was Strawberries......oh and chillies. Must say the weeds have been quite successful too. i agree Northern Rob.......other councils could learn from our Highland Council. Our main roads are kept free and its rare we are ever stuck totally. Smaller roads in the town do have issues from time to time.
  16. Good day.......quite pleasant out in the garden. Still around 15C. Maybe about the same tomorrow but getting cooler and wetter on Tuesday
  17. 10C but DRY for the moment thankfully. Thanks for my morning chuckle Cheggers.....
  18. Ach we have reached the heady temperature of 11C today and still raining !! This must be a nightmare for you NL. Some farmers must have lost some of their crops with the heavy rain we have had.
  19. Ooops guilty....have visited the Temple and the Shrine today!! Feeling milder.....now waiting for the rain to arrive tonight... 14C So glad I live in the peaceful north, what a horrific situation to live with down in London and other cities in England at this time.
  20. The Roads were bad today trying to travel along the B9006 from Clephanton towards Inverness – ultimately impassable. A lot of lying and gushing water between Croy and the Culloden Moor Caravan Park, the area down towards Balloch near the Feabuie the fields were like lakes and the road only passable with caution. Barn Church Road junction closed and major tailbacks on the A96. Inverness also had several problem areas especially in Moray Park and down by the Longman/Harbour areas. Too much concrete and new developments.....the rain has nowhere to go.. More heavy rain predicted, but very little about the specific difficulties on individual roads in news bulletins other than at Belladrum. Dry tonight.....but feeling cool at 11C More heavy rain tomorrow morning and possibly another dousing on Wednesday!
  21. After torrential downpours during the night..more bands of rain expected. 12C and drizzle at the moment.
  22. Surprise surprise.........its raining!!! Very humid and almost thundery.
  23. Welcome back HC.......and glad you got your luggage back Cheggers. Not bad a morning 15C.... heavy rain forecast later today. Feel sorry for those at Belladrum they will get a soaking tonight!!!
  24. Rather pleasant yesterday with good periods of sunshine. Showers earlier, grey day 14C.... Grass too wet to cut...... Yes read there was an Ecoli risk Cheggers. People in parts of Scotland have been advised to boil their water after E.coli bacteria were found in the local supply. Scottish Water said a "small number" of the bacteria were found during routine testing. It has advised households and businesses in Burghead, Kinloss and Findhorn in Moray to boil their water before using it for drinking or food preparation. http://www.stirlingobserver.co.uk/stirling-news/scottish-news/2011/08/03/call-to-boil-water-amid-e-coli-risk-51226-29175347/
