  1. Are people really giving up about a possibly cold end to December based on one GFS run or am I going bonkers?! Let's all remember that it might possibly be an outlier. Don't let one run fool you!
  2. Get in! It's only one minute but it's baby steps at least... Bring on Spring and Summer!!
  3. It looked stormy in these places too: https://www.windy.com/-Webcams/Australia/New-South-Wales/Gunnedah/Gunnedah-Airport/webcams/1548217138?-30.959,148.607,8 https://www.windy.com/-Webcams/Australia/New-South-Wales/Manilla/Mount-Borah/webcams/1602481506?-30.676,148.964,8,m:cM8akkM
  4. Looks like Jabiru got a battering today.. https://www.windy.com/-Webcams/Australia/Mudginberri/webcams/1581823351?-12.678,131.199,8
  5. Day 16 from the 12z GFS... -8/-9c uppers present for the majority and some snow about... as if it will verify
  6. To the Bay of Biscay. In all seriousness Tim, this is a very good run. -8c uppers into southern parts of the UK and look how far south the jet is:
  7. And that's the 1983746574839248th time the GFS has shown a northerly for Christmas Day... not bad at all!
  8. I thought you said 'Palace your bets' at first and as a Tottenham fan, don't even get me started. The GFS mean is actually pretty decent for Christmas Day - upper ridging to our west and troughing to our east, and even shows the -4c isotherm getting into central Britain. Good setup. Let's just hope this comes off. The control looks to be heading in the right direction too
  9. Stunning build up of a CB on a webcam this afternoon in the Philippines. Windy as forecasted WWW.WINDY.COM Wind map and weather forecast
  10. The 06z GFS control run is an absolute peach in time for Christmas... if this was to come off then it would most likely result in some snow for the majority of the country on Christmas Day and the risk of more snow a few days after and potentially into New Years Day... what a run!
  11. I've just flicked through the 06z GFS ensembles - about 1/3 of them show some sort of northerly around Christmas/Boxing Day. Here's one - P15: But instead, P11 caught my attention. Look near Greece. -24/-26c uppers!! Along with a 1060mb high!!! Utterly insane
  12. January and February - mainly cold and snowy (especially first half of Jan) but with a few mild interludes March - Very dry with above average temps April - Wet and windy, with below-average temperatures and April showers galore May - Mixed with unsettled periods and periods of warm/hot weather, with storms mid-month June - The driest and hottest month of them all, with very little rain and the highest temperature of the year recorded (35.5c) July - Another hot month but also with severe thunderstorms - the most thundery July in the past 5 years August and September - Mainly wet and windy for the whole month October - Colder than average temps, with snow over higher ground November and December - Mainly mild and zonal
  13. 12z ECM @192 looks almost the same @168. You can see the -24/28c uppers start to crawl into the Europe view at Meteociel. Look at that sexy donut in the NH view... now I'm hungry...
  14. If the 12z GFS was to be believed, then things might take an interesting turn, come Christmas?!
  15. Oh wow, that GFS run looks really g- Oh, hold on, it’s the pub run. The NH view of the PV is amazing though! Looks to be in a very good position for cold weather in a couple of weeks time... A good pub run tonight. In other news, the grass is green.
  16. This mornings GFS parallel delivers the same amount of uppers to the UK as the GFS 00z op run... so it's a pretty cold run by the looks of it
  17. That 00z GFS is a peach of a run, shame it's in FI! And if it was to come off, it looks like it would be a proper snow-maker... Merry Christmas!
