  1. Testing out my camera again at night-time - cranked up the iso to 6,400, with aperture at 2.8 and 80/10 exposure time: I was going to use my tripod but I couldn't manage to get it in the position I wanted, so I had to do a hand-held shot, which is why the picture looks a tad blurry. I still think it looks good though.

Apologies for the slightly blurry photo - this was taken at a really awkward position right outside my window so I couldn't use a tripod!
  3. Scratch that, it's snowing here now! Some big flakes falling.
  4. It's still raining here and I'm five miles SW of St. Neots! The band looks to be finally advancing southwards now, so hopefully it won't be too long before it starts snowing here..
  5. Just cold rain here. Lovely cold rain. Currently 1.4c with a dewpoint of 1c.
  6. Absolutely bizarre clouds hovering over my house at the moment. They look like some sort of cirrus but the way they cave in makes it look like some sort of spaceship. I took this photo too of what looks like some distant fog, but I don't know where to put it, so in this post it goes!
  7. Good ECM this evening! The cold starts to flow towards us as early as day 7! Hopefully it doesn't switch to the UKMO's path tomorrow! My mocks was scheduled for this month and if schools didn't close then I would have been extremely busy revising. I am a little annoyed at this, but there are loads of positives - one of them being the fact that I can sit at home for most of the day watching the models, and, if this ECM run comes off, I could spend most of the day enjoying the snow if any falls. Away from all of that, it is looking very promising towards the end of the month. Exciting times ahead!
  8. For those curious about what perturbation reached the -17c isotherm line, it's perturbation 22!
  9. 12z ECM @216.. This is a very good run. The ECM manages to cut off the low in the Atlantic and eventually leads to a better route to cold. We even drag in the -8c uppers too!
  10. How tonight's midnight sky is looking: I tried to get a zoomed in picture of the Sandy Heath Mast and clouds above it but a whistling sound in the grass that sounded very much like footsteps has startled me for the rest of the night.
  11. This GFS run is absolutely stunning. 2nd run on the trot now that it's been showing the cold air (850hpa temps around -8/-9c for the whole country!) coming down from the north.
  12. This is all I have to show for tonight lol. You can just about see the little snow pellets.
  13. Here she comes! @240 PS - this is a day ten chart - so don't take it too literally!
