  1. Really coming down with big flakes. Looking after the neighbours dog. He's going crazy in the back garden, might take him out fr a walk and get some snaps if this keeps up!
  2. Chucking it down, big flakes. Ground was sodden before, covered! Result!
  3. Still snow, had at least an hour of sleet/rain mix. Live just near bowling green pub in chorlton. Stones throw from the Mersey.
  4. Yep sure does. Although bit of a weird event! Random reports tonight. Not the usual breaking event.
  5. Should add at only 33m above sea level, right down near the Mersey.
  6. Slush areas are whitening over again...moderate precipitation bordering heavy.
  7. One weird event this. 5.30pm minor covering in Stockport...sleet/snow/rain mix..drove west on the M60 whiteout conditions, heavy snow lying even in the middle verge A roads closer to home. A first for me, almost always the exact opposite.
  8. Heavy ice pellets now, probably hail, difficult to tell. Big drip, drip from the gutter though.
  9. Snowing again here. Will have to be super heavy to cover the inch of slush on the paths
  10. Hideous slushy mess on the paths now. Still heavy rain/sleet mix. Easily predictable. Got the 2.5 hrs I forecast pretty much to the minute. We need to cut the Gulf Stream off. Anywhere approaching our latitude needs compensating for the cool summers with extreme winters. For me the world is set up all wrong!
  11. Few flakes still mixed in down the road in chorlton..but yeah id say it was over.
  12. Well we did manage to get a short period of really heavy snow only 33m above sea level. After the "dandruff days" I was impressed.
  13. Seems a few areas that have faired badly prior to today are enjoying the "better" of conditions tonight. Shame its a transient event . Sort of ruins it. Prefered to have had rain today and a better fall when others have.
  14. Back home in chorlton got a covering...near blizzard conditions driving back from stockport.
  15. Light snow at work in stockport..feels considerably milder than lunchtime though.
  16. No sorry, I think it was somewhere amongst the morning posts of the model thread. Although if I remember correctly, and I'm not even paraphrasing here, it was more that they were thinking that the snow line would be further north and much of the south would have rain. I think all of our region was in the snow zone. Apologies if I've recalled it wrong. Don't have the patience to wade back through the model thread!
  17. Meto have binned the NAE. Or had earlier today according to Fergieweather.
  18. The highlight of this cold spell for me was driving up to Teggs Nose on the Buxton road out of Macclesfield and enjoying some deep snow cover. Synoptics wise it has reinforced my opinion that a predominantly South East wind direction is one of thee worst for delivering here. Take your pick from ENE round to WNW and all have possibilities. As others have mentioned, one surprising aspect has been the almost constant cloud cover and lack of low overnight minima. An interesting few weeks but no more than that for me.
  19. Laptop and pub wifi? In your shoes, presuming you are not working tomorrow, I get out early for a decent walk then hit a pub as the snow hits. Stay for a few hours and back home to the forum!
