  1. Morning all, and Happy V-day to those that bother celebrating. I've been with my husband 17 years - honestly, you get lesser sentence for murder these days As for the weather, it's bloody horrible out there. Wet, cloudy and cold - the worse type of weather in my books. Happy POETS day!
  2. Plenty of room on the sofa - I'm stuck at work! But agree about SE trains - think I'll be refreshing their web page as the afternoon draws on.
  3. Well, the jouney home from work should be interesting later... don't think I'll bother with a brolly! Wind really picking up here now - just praying southeastern trains are still running later. On the plus side, the crane that has been outside my window the past few months has been moved. Stay safe all - wish I was at home snug on the sofa with a hot chocolate!
  4. Afternoon All, After and wet and dull start, it's brightened up nicely this afternoon. Also noticing that it is light now when I leave work in the evenings at 4.30pm. I can almost smell Spring (fingers crossed) As per my post yesterday in the thread, we went to Hastings on Sunday and took some pictures of the waves. Obviously no where near as bad as those on the coast in the SW of England (thank goodness) but in all my times of going to the south coast, I have never seen such an angry looking and sounding sea. Then the sun broke through the clouds: And well - this just made us laugh, even if it clearly didn't see the funny side:
  5. Wow, come over really dark here at London Southbank - would be surprised if we didn't get some heavy rain soon (and fingers crossed a rumble or two of thunder!)
  6. Morning All, Just spent the past hour or so catching up on all the posts over this weekend - sounds like those down on the south coast had some thunder - lucky things! We went to Hastings yesterday - the sea was very stormy - and it's true what they say - the sea really does roar when angry! Will post some pictures up when I get the chance. As for today, just heavy grey cloud - suitably depressing for a Monday morning! Have a good day SR
  7. Been raining for a few hours here at work (London Southbank) - it's come over very dark now though, so possibly in for some heavier bursts soon.
  8. How was the meal at the Coach & Horses CK? When we go to Ruxley, I often hint to Mr Raven it would be nice to have dinner there one evening. Although it seems I am obviously not hinting well enough! As for the weather - dull, dull and more dull. And later it appears it's going to be wet, wet and even more wet. Joy!
  9. I know - and typically, as usual I made it into work - the disruption didn't happen till after I arrived. Seems this is caused by the usual excuse of signal failure, so hopefully it will be sorted by home time!
  10. Morning all, Nothing really remarkable last night with the weather - but I must say the wind nearly blew me side ways between London Bridge Station and Guy's Hospital this morning (yes, I am working in my windowless office today, so local weather reports will be extra useful for me today!) I'm just not sure if the strong gusts were due to the wind tunnel that The Shard has created, or whether it's a sign that the stronger winds are just arriving!
  11. I've just checked their website - the speed restrictions will be in place from 11pm tonight and all day tomorrow with short notice cancellations and delays. With any luck I won't be able to get to work tomorrow
  12. I didn't even realise they had speed restrictions this evening - thanks for the heads up on that. I look forward to my battle to get home later this evening then...!
  13. There's a thread dedicated to the up coming low pressure systems here lloydyd: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/79252-atlantic-storms-february-2014/page-12#entry2917227 Plenty of wind chart's there and some good posts from those who can interpret and understand them!
  14. Yep, it's gone from sunny blue skies to dark clouds here at London Southbank - bang goes my good mood for the day!
  15. Morning all, A lovely sunrise this morning - blue skies and pink clouds - two of my favourite colours. If Mother Nature could have added a bit of lilac and silver, it would have been perfect! Went through a rain shower on the train to work (in the Eltham/Kidbrooke/Blackheath area of London) - but nice and dry and sunny at work now. Such a shame it is all set to change for the worse later - really hope that after this poor winter we are treated to a warm, sunny spring!
  16. Join the club - I'm in a right old mood this morning and I can't even blame this one on PMT! Still, on a positive note, it was a lovely day yesterday, we made the most of the sunshine and took a drive out to Poll Hill Garden Centre (never thought I would end up doing what my parents did on a Sunday when I was young and hated having to go with them!!) Back to work today - it's at least still dry, but quite a bit of cloud about. Tuesday night into Wednesday is looking a tad wet and windy.
  17. Afternoon all, Lovely sunny day here so far. Amazing how seeing some blue sky and sunshine can really lighten the mood. Have a lovely weekend!
  18. My friend actually took the photo - so maybe she should copy right it instead! I missed any weather yesterday as I was doing my 1 day per week at Guy's Hospital - and it's a windowless office If you are travelling to London by train Reefseeker, just check the railway company's website first. Southeastern have put a message on their site to say they are putting speed restrictions on the network at 8pm until close of service (which in other words means the trains will be cancelled and delayed all evening and they are getting their excuse in early) - due to the wind and rain later...
