Storm & Convective Discussion - 01/03/15 onwards
snow raven replied to Thunderbolt_'s topic in Storms & Severe Weather
Had a couple of short storms (and hail) yesterday evening back home in Bexleyheath between 6-7pm. Hopefully we get some decent storms this summer that last hours (rather than minutes!) -

Brilliant picture there Harry! It seems I am a bit too far down the Thames to have enjoyed that storm - only had a few spits of rain so far Oh, tell a lie - heard a rather long rumble of thunder in the distance - yay! Come closer!! -

Wish I had a decent view from my office! I can, however, see the is turning an ominous dark grey, so fingers crossed..... -

Typical, I must have bloody blinked and missed it!! Where abouts in London are you both? I'm on the Southbank, opposite Big Ben. (and now the sun has come out!) -

I went through Falconwood on my train this morning and can confirm the area did better than mine with snow depths. I'd say between Welling and Kidbrooke faired the best (on my train route anyway) -

Snowing here in Bexleyheath, although not settling! Nice to see the flakes in the light of the lamp post though. If we have anymore snow during the night, I hope it settles... -
Dark and a bit nippy.

We went on holiday to Looe in August, so it's lovely to see these pictures. It was our first holiday to Cornwall and certainly won't be our last. Thank you for sharing your pictures. Here's one of my daughter walking along Looe Beach just before sunset:

Distant rumbles and flashes here. It has kicked off sooner than expected. Will this affect what is due to arrive after midnight? IE the juicy stuff?

Storm and convective discussion 7th July Onwards
snow raven replied to Jane Louise's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
I can hear that storm from here in Bexleyheath. No lighting or rain yet though. -
Morning all, Lovely day out there so far this morning - hope the sunshine sticks around as it really brightens the old mood. That, coupled with buying a new car (well, a new car to me) and it being my 10 year wedding anniversay today, I am quite a happy old bunny. I love the pictures Leigh, we usually take the river cruise up London if we ever fancy a day out in London. It makes a nice change for me as although I work in London I get the train 5 days a week and that journey is so boring and monotonous

Morning all, As Paul has said, a little off topic-ness is fine in moderation, just as long as there this some weather related on-topic-ness included as well, so pretty much how these threads have been ticking along. All are welcome to post here, it's always been a friendly welcoming thread on the whole. Please PM me if there are any issues of concern. As for the weather, walked to work in fine drizzle this morning but it does seem the grey clouds are starting to break up and I have had my first glimpse of the sun (all be it very brief!) Have a good day SR

Afternoon all, Just catching up with the thread. Lovely little puppy Lloyd, very cute! Well done on your 1000th post Leigh, and Bluebreezer, you really couldn't have picked a better time weather wise for your break to Hastings. I love Hastings, we go every year (infact we have already been once this year so far) Enjoy the rest of your holiday Weather is utterly lovely out there, but a tad too warm being stuck in this office. Am hoping this settled weather stays for Sunday as we are planning on having a family BBQ for Fathers Day... Fingers crossed! Hope all are well SR

Morning all, A lovely day out there this morning, if a little breezy. Still, it's nice to see the sun, it really brightens my mood. Really hoping we are lucky enough to have some storms Saturday, amazingly the models are still looking good for potential anyway, just got to hope we get the right ingredients on the day!
