  1. Had a flash and a rumble about 5 mins ago in Bexleyheath - still annoyingly humid!
  2. Sun is back out in central London now - pushing the temperature back up to unbearable heat. Can't wait for my journey home later as well, courtesy of the South East Trains Sauna!
  3. It's certainly feeling a lot cooler in our non-air conditioned office since this morning. I must confess, I haven't ventured out this afternoon though, so could well still be oppressive out side (although I do hope not!)
  4. And it's really starting to feel a bit cooler, which is much needed!
  5. Certainly starting to feel a bit cooler in my non-airconditioned office - thank goodness!!
  6. Thanks @TomSE12, it's great having your knowledgable input in this thread, especially knowing you don't like thunder!
  7. Starting to get a bit cloudy over central London atm - I think it is showing signs of instability up in the atmosphere. Either that, or I am looking for storm chances that just aren't there!
  8. So, it looks like the end is in sight of this oppressive heatwave. Can't say I will miss it - I am looking forward to less humidity and temperatures nearer normal for this time of year! (And no, I am not wishing for rain etc, just nice temperatures and sunshine!)
  9. A much more bearable day today heat wise. Humidity isn't as bad, so no longer sitting in a pool of sweat and a pleasant breeze blowing through the house. Hoping to get a better night sleep later
  10. Finally, we are back to normal summer temperatures (for me anyway). It is so much nicer today and is a pleasure to be up and about without breaking out in a sweat! As for that breeze.... perfick!!
  11. A pretty decent storm currently in Bexleyheath with plenty of lightning too
  12. A pretty decent storm currently in Bexleyheath, plenty of lightning too
  13. What had struck me is how quick everything started to dry out after the rain. Pavements were drying out in minutes!
  14. Yep, definitely thunder 3 rumbles now and the last one was quite loud. It's also whipped up a nice breeze. Lovely!
  15. Time to get excited? Please, please, please can we be rewarded with a strom after putting up with this heat for so long!
  16. Sorry for voicing an opinion! My hatred of heat is exactly why I won't ever up sticks and move somewhere where these types of temperatures are the norm for months on end.
  17. The heat today is awful - worse humidity I have experienced for a few years. Will be extremely disapointment if we aren't rewarded with a decent storm for putting up with this today
  18. Just as I thought the storm was coming to an end, we get more lightning and thunder! Today has put me in mind of my old school days of the 1980's/90's where could thunder on and off throughout the day whilst sat in a stuffy classroom. Feels like years since I last experienced a day like today.
  19. Just seen a snapchat video from my daughter outside our house and there is a river of water flowing in the road, but that's not unusual during heavy rain. No doubt Crayford will flood yet again...
  20. Seems we have missed the worse of the storm and rain at London Southbank. I've heard from my daughter in Bexleyheath and it's pretty bad there.
  21. Rumbles are getting louder at London Southbank - making me feel less gutted to be missing out on the storm in Bexleyheath (home)
  22. I've heard a couple of very distant rumbles here at work (London Southbank) - possibly from the storm that's over where you are?
