  1. Let's look on the bright side - we will all be off work... Plus we have 2 more months of winter to look forward to - not forgetting March that has a past record of producing heavy snow fall, and even April (does anyone remember April 2008?!)
  2. The picture Coast has posted has come up as a red cross... I do hope it's not of the naughty variety (although knowing Coast....)
  3. My gut feeling is that it will be a great big fat disapointment
  4. Maybe next time you type a dramatic statement like you did earlier, you would be honest like you have been above instead of misleading members of the forum. Everyone loves a ramp, but there has to be genuine reasons to ramp
  5. Well, hopefully Yamkin is correct and some of us do get some bonus snow. Not sure about it causing mayhem, but who knows?
  6. I've just looked at the NW radar and agree. There is nothing of note heading this way.
  7. Yamkin, please, please pretty please can you stop posting things like the above when it clearly isn't going to happen.
  8. Yep, I agree AJ. Can't see it making it to the SE, and on the precipitation radar, it seems to be mainly falling as sleet.
  9. Now that the excitement of this morning has quietend down, I'll be locking this thread shortly, and starting part 2... Although judging by the posts from the clever people who can read the colourful charts in the Model discussion area, it looks like for us in the South East at least, no more snow is forecast between now and New Year Part 2 can be found here: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/71955-london-and-the-south-east-regional-discussion-thread-part-2/
  10. Well peeps, fingers crossed as Winter progresses, our snow chances increase...
  11. I wonder if Yamkin is house bound due to the heavy snow, mixed with 100mph blizzard conditions?
  12. In that case, he is probably up above the low cloud and thinks the ground is white! Left Bexleyheath this morning to some moderate bursts of wet snow (not settling) got to London (Southbank area) and just had light rain. I work in pretty much a windowless office, am relying on your reports today
  13. was snowing in Bexleyheath this morning (not settling) got to work in London (Southbank area) and its raining
  14. Well, since any snow potential isn't forecast until tomorrow morning's rush hour, I'm off to bed. Fingers crossed for us all in this region tomorrow that we at least see a snow flake fall from the sky... Happy snow dreams
  15. Working in Central London, I'm not expecting anything more exciting than (hopefully) seeing some flakes of snow - don't expect it to settle. Fingers crossed for those of you away from the urban heat of London to at least have some settling snow, even if it's only for a short while And fingers crossed for me being able to get home on South Eastern train's tomorrow - since a leaf can grind the network to halt for 2 hours - let alone a wet flake of snow
  16. Well, just seen the 6.30pm BBC weather - they are going for rain, followed by snow for this region. The rain is expected to turn to snow during the morning rush hour. Permission to get slightly excited? :w00t:
  17. I don't think I would be able to cope when snow is forecast during the night - I would need counselling to ween me off lamp post watching!
  18. I'm sticking to good old fashioned looking out the window from now on - its fail proof!
  19. Yamkin, although I enjoy your ramping, I do think your last few posts in this thread are very misleading. If of course you can produce hard evidence to 100 mph winds, heavy snow etc that you are claiming we are in for in the next 24 hours, maybe I would take your posts more seriously...
  20. 24 years - I remember that night like it was yesterday! Hard to believe that many members on here wasn't even born back then, let alone remember it. I even remember the famous Michael Fish broadcast that evening and at the age of 9 (nearly 10 - age being important back then) laughing along with him when he suggested a woman had contacted the METO about a hurricane about to hit.
  21. The way the models have chopped and changed during the course of this past week, I think its just a case now of now casting Thursday night/Friday morning.
  22. Following on from what John has said and just in case some of you are not aware, we have a Regional Discussion area here: http://forum.netweather.tv/forum/142-regional-discussions/ where you can post regarding snow, thunder etc that you are currently experiencing. Let's try to keep this thread on topic
  23. Well, I like strong winds... but then, I like snow. Which one will win? There's only one way to find out...
