  1. Let's just look forward to what this afternoons potential brings. Personally, I cannot wait to start radar watching later this afternoon and evening - lets hope this hot spell ends with a big bang!
  2. It is lovely to see the sun for what feels like so long! Hoping to get out and about this weekend and make the most of the dry weather
  3. Here it is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-18018232
  4. Fair point, although I would appreciate it if you cut with the attitude in future.
  5. That will be the impending doom of rain approaching again..... I'd like to try something - a kind of rain dance for the SE if you like. Anthonyb - if you could refrain from moaning about rain for the next 6 months and just accept the UK weather, just maybe we will get a dry spell - you clearly think mother nature is against you, so just accept it and she will hopefully stop annoying you. Life is just too short.
  6. I don't think anyone wants or likes more rain. Storms yes, but low pressure after low pressure with rain is a big no no. However, none of us can control the weather, so we just have to make do with what mother nature throws at us. And if that's more rain, then so be it!
  7. Dear Mother Nature, I am about to throw in the towel and go to bed in my neck of the woods. Please don't let me regret this like I did Monday night when I discovered we had a storm 30 minutes after my head hit the pillow. Amen.
  8. Right, I am throwing in the towel. Not even heavy rain here - pah!
  9. I've just looked the the current NW radar, and am wondering where this heavy rain is and when it will arrive for the South East? Other than the rain and storms currently happening in Essex and EA, there doesn't seem to be anything - not even drizzle - set to hit the South and South East from the Continent?
  10. nowt here - not even much rain. So, (no doubt I will regret this like I did Monday night)... but I am off to bed. If I read tomorrow I missed a night storm again, I will be bloody gutted!
  11. I can't comment on the loss of posts (I threw the towel in for the storm potential half an hour before we had a storm - sadly I was sound-o by then and bloody missed the whole thing ) However, the forum did go down last night, so think some data and posts might have been lost during that time. We are sorry about that - however, at least you can cherish the memories - unlike me!!
  12. I won't be throwing in the towel half an hour before any storms arrive, thats for sure! I still can't believe I went to bed and missed a lightning show and some rumbles last night. Might have only lasted 20 minutes (according to Mr Raven who decided not to bloody wake me!) But even so, I feel cheated I will personally buy matchsticks for my eyes in anticipation for tomorrow night - I'm not missing out on any potential! Snap!
  13. Typical, 30 minutes after I went to bed last night and a storm kicks off. Guess what - I slept through the whole thing. Gutted
  14. Well, I'm off to bed (with the windows wide open in the hope that a rumble or two will wake me from my slumber!)
  15. Been raining here since around 7pm, getting slightly more heavier now. Fingers crossed for some imports later - just have to hope if we do get any, I don't sleep through them
  16. Just watched the local ITV weather report, and the forecaster spoke about heavy thundery storms moving up from France arriving in the SE over night...
  17. Same here - lovely morning and I have annual leave too! Looking at Coast's latest posts in the storm thread, it looks like there is also scope for heavy showers later with the chance of thunder - so radar watching to come later too
  18. I cannot believe this regional area passed without problems throughout the busy Winter period, but during the usually calming Spring time, I have received numerous PM's (and indeed read the posts myself) regarding some members general attitude being rude, and sometimes off topic (even though they have been pointed in the right direction to voice their opinions) and members leaving the forum. Please can we post constructive posts from now on, and not posts that clearly rile most members. Any off topic posts, or pointless posts only on here to annoy the majority of members shall be deleted. Oh, and Anthonyb, could you change your location to where you are currently posting from. Cheers
  19. Well, the rain has finally stopped here - we even had 10 minutes of sun before the cloud came back! Is the front starting the clear from this neck of the woods, or is there more to come today?
  20. Well, today in my neck of the woods, it turned out to be a very big damp squid! Still, the rain was needed I guess - its a shame most of it ended up down the drains and on its way to the sea or leaking out of the water companies pipes
  21. started to rain pretty moderately here in Bexleyheath with some strong gusts of wind thrown in for good measure I live in hope of the odd lightning strike and rumble of thunder...
  22. Have to say, I am rather excited with the potential as the day wears on. It might even make discovering my boots have holes in them on a rather wet walk to work today worth while At least I remembered an umbrella today...
  23. It's certainly a nice day for ducks today, that's for sure!
