  1. Nothing wrong with a bit of rain - I've kind of missed it. I think us lot in this neck of the woods have taken for granted the vast majority of dry days we have had over the past few years. When I was younger (aka the 1980's and 1990's) it wasn't unusual for days of moderate rain during the course of each year. Now days we moan when we have one out of 364!
  2. I have my fingers crossed the showers developing in this neck of the woods hit me with loads of hail and thunder. Well - a girl can live in hope!
  3. typically enough, when I am at work and not able to appreciate and witness any storms forming over head, there are loads. Weekend comes and bugger all happens! I have my hopes pinned on tomorrow....
  4. Typically enough, I am working in a different office today (London Bridge area) that doesn't have any windows I would pop out, but am waiting for someone to arrive that should have been here 20 minutes ago. Grrrrrr
  5. It was an impressive storm - I was walking to Waterloo East Station with it above me. Shame I left my umbrella at work - there were a few terrifying moments where I thought my contact lenses were sliding down my face after being washed out of my eyes thanks to the torrential rain Let's hope so - you can't beat an imported thunderstorm from France!
  6. cracking (pardon the pun) bit of lightning and roll of thunder here in London (Southbank)
  7. I expect PP is busy tapping away on You tube as we speak!
  8. Had some very heavy rain and hail around 6.30pm this evening. Produced 1 flash of lightning and a couple of rumbles of thunder. First bit of thunder I have heard this year - here's hoping to lots more!
  9. Oh I don't know... I'd like just one more chance at some snow this winter before wanting Spring and Summer to arrive. Although this winter wasn't as good as last years, I'm just grateful we had enough snow to build a snowman with. I remember many a winter since 1991 when we've been lucky to see a snow flake in the SE, let alone hope any would settle!
  10. Its like the opposite extreems we had in October last year - 80f+ at the beginning of October. It was surreal crunching through autumn leaves with my flip flops on that time of year!
  11. What might be worth keeping an eye on? I'm afraid I don't understand the charts, so some information when posting would be appreciated
  12. You can't beat a bit of bonus snow! Really wasn't expecting anything my neck of the woods, so this has come as a welcome surprise
  13. Phew - managed to get internet connection at home fixed - just in time for me to be able to get on line and check the radars out as to where this bonus snow has come from! Been snowing light - moderately here in Bexleyheath for around 1 hour 30 mins. Nice covering on everything other than the roads and pavements. Lovely jubbly
  14. I think its all down to staring intently at our lamp posts and willing it to snow after dark!!!
  15. All that snow currently out in the North Sea - could that have the whole regions name on it, as opposed to just the west of the region? Or is it destined to suddenly veer off west before it reaches us?!
  16. Just got home from an afternoon spent in the snow at Hall Place (Bexley). I may upload some pics later - depends if I manage it or not (not being very technical minded!) Certainly a slow thaw going on - probably lost around half the snow we woke up to. Only got 1.5 - 2" left of snow that hasn't been trampled on.
  17. Yep, I reckon, we have around 4" - not quite as much as we got in December 2010, however, it's more than I thought we would get this time around. I woke up around 4am to do a last bit of lamp post watching and it was still very lightly snowing even then!
  18. coming down nicely now - a good 1inch Think I will be hitting the sack soon though - am cream cracked - I can't stay up for these over night events like I used to be able to!!
  19. Snow has certainly pepped up - looking good now (after a worried first couple of hours of nothing of note!)
  20. The snow has certainly pepped up the past 15 mins or so - I'm on Eversley - so a busier road than the back roads.
  21. I think you must be higher up than me Steve - I would say (at an estimate) that I haven't yet had 1cm yet - where about in Barnehurst are you? You must be on one the higher roads.
