  1. Well, judging by the negative posts in the storms thread, it seems we might miss out tonight and tomorrow. On the plus side, this might work in our favour - it's called 'Sods Law' and normally works against us... On another note, car drivers - did you notice your car covered in mucky marks from what I can only assume was rain at some point today? I got off the train and into my car tonight and the window screen was awful! It wasn't just me - I was chatting to a friend in Cambridge who said the same...
  2. Thanks dallas, I did wonder if it was being played somewhere else in the Country. Thank goodness it won't be affected! Anyway, back on topic - bugger all happening weather wise in Bexleyheath!
  3. Hopefully it will clear up before the England game - that pitch looked to be in danger of being flooded!
  4. If you want to see a proper decent thunderstorm, switch the TV on to ITV1 - thunderstorm has stopped the footie game...
  5. convection certainly seems to be trying to build here. Hopefully a good sign?
  6. It's certainly looking nasty for some of us in this region. Thankfully rain seemed to have stopped around lunchtime here...
  7. peeing down here in Bexleyheath since around 6.30pm - proper steady rain, and if this doesn't show signs of letting up in the next 24 hours (as the meto weather warning suggests) then there might be problems... (but hopefully flights to Cyprus on Tuesday won't be affected)
  8. certainly looking at an unsettled couple of weeks if the weather forecasters are to be believed. I think once 'summer' is over, the SE can safely say we aren't in drought like conditions!!
  9. certainly breezy out there right now. We have a fully leafed big tree outside our front room window in saturated (drought?)ridden ground wafting around atm - lets hope if there is to be any damage over night, it isnt through our front room window!
  10. Fingers crossed - otherwise it means I have to water my flowers when I get home from work!
  11. I was at work when that storm broke out in Dartford (I work near London South Bank) but had hoped by the time I got home more storms would have cropped up. By the time I got home to Barnehurst, I could see the massive anvil over towards the Dartford crossing and Essex way, but nothing more materialised in Bexley Fingers crossed for today and/or tomorrow!
  12. Sure was! I had such high hopes for yesterdays action and was rather disapointed to say the least. Trying not to build my hopes up for this afternoon, but I just can't help it...
  13. Yesterday was a great big fat disapointment in my neck of the woods - lets hope any storms that develop are more widespread today!
  14. I'm trying to keep the faith here - if that line of storms can fire up so quickly, here's hoping more do, covering a larger area of this region... Plenty of time left yet for more cells to pep up (fingers crossed!)
  15. Hurry up home time - I want to get out of work and on my way home to radar watch properly and sit out in the garden with the hope of hearing a storm approaching!
  16. Lets see how things develop SS. Part of the fun is the radar watching - getting a storm is the cherry on the icing!
