Well I would like to start by saying that the latest WRF-NMM has encouraged me for Wednesday, just on the basis of getting rain, but also hopefully something thundery, if it holds together... Also interested by tomorrow in Scotland, with most models showing 200-400 j/kg of CAPE, and a few nasty showers or storms shown on the UKV.

You can really see the dry air associated with the trough on the overlay of water vapour imagery. I don't think I got the position of the trough quite right so please correct me. The 0z Herstmonceux sounding doesn't show any instability, but it was in the very early morning and it does show some quite dry air aloft so interesting to see that. Also worth noting that the wind profiles are looking quite favourable for storms, with a nice veer with some OK directional shear. So overall mixed feelings about today but for some reason I'm feeling lucky

I still think that some storms will develop, I'm just sad that there are not going to be widespread SB storms in the afternoon like some models were previously showing. That's why I still want the trough to slow down, because during most o the day tomorrow I will be doing exams so will not be able to film or track if storms if they are not during the mid/late afternoon.

After waking up and reading the latest model thread, I was feeling quite sad about Thursday's potential until I had a quick look at the UKV model. There seems to be some more of a trend from the latest models of less elevated convection, allowing the sun to clear and some CAPE to build in the south-east corner, along with some surface based T-Storms. Although I would miss out on this scenario, it could be something that is worth taking note of.
