  1. The best lightning I have from the footage I have gone through so far.
  2. I had multiple close strikes that resulted in a cracking like thunder which I have never really heard before!
  3. Just got lots of lightning as well as much needed rain! I am looking through all the videos I took so hopefully will upload good ones soon.
  4. Well I would like to start by saying that the latest WRF-NMM has encouraged me for Wednesday, just on the basis of getting rain, but also hopefully something thundery, if it holds together... Also interested by tomorrow in Scotland, with most models showing 200-400 j/kg of CAPE, and a few nasty showers or storms shown on the UKV.
  5. UKV for Wednesday! Looking fairly good but obviously subject to significant change as we saw from last Thursday. Hopefully something like this does materialise!
  6. If there was a 20-30% chance we would be looking at a tornado outbreak and a SPC High Risk, especially with an EF2+ tornado risk.
  7. Lucky you. I was stuck where I was (as always), but managed to see very frequent lightning and multiple rounds of very intense storms.
  8. Hello Everyone. Because I was bored and craving storms, I drew this remake of the 27/07/2018 CW Convective Outlook. I hope you like it!
  9. I hope you are joking, and I hope you are wrong as there is no way I'm waiting 2 months for the next storm chance
  10. Well this has been a rather depressing day for the storm lovers out there! My family are thoroughly enjoying the warm weather and definitely do not want storms, unlike me.
  11. Talk about a disappointment from the UK Weather! Hopefully we will have better luck next time. It's awful to think we could have been having something like this:
  12. We will have a small chance any time today, so don't feel down just yet. One thing I've noticed on water vapour is that the trough is taking more of a NE track then expected, and allowing some moisture to flow in behind it. I don't know if this is a valid thing to note but I was wondering about it.
  13. Lots of AcCas with a very warm feel in the air. My skies are still clear and it is already 17.6c!
  14. You can really see the dry air associated with the trough on the overlay of water vapour imagery. I don't think I got the position of the trough quite right so please correct me. The 0z Herstmonceux sounding doesn't show any instability, but it was in the very early morning and it does show some quite dry air aloft so interesting to see that. Also worth noting that the wind profiles are looking quite favourable for storms, with a nice veer with some OK directional shear. So overall mixed feelings about today but for some reason I'm feeling lucky
  15. Still got these to look forward to. I think that I don't really care now about missing out on Thursday considering we have got so much summer left.
  16. I still think that some storms will develop, I'm just sad that there are not going to be widespread SB storms in the afternoon like some models were previously showing. That's why I still want the trough to slow down, because during most o the day tomorrow I will be doing exams so will not be able to film or track if storms if they are not during the mid/late afternoon.
  17. I just thought how great it be if we all woke up to a lot better of a setup tomorrow with a CW moderate risk and the conditions we were seeing before. That would be the best...
  18. The latest UKV even more depressing. Not even a shower. I do wish things would turn around but I'm starting to really doubt it
  19. The models changed quickly so hopefully they can go back just as fast
  20. Even though it is still a day out, I have pretty much lost all hope in Thursday. I wish we could start seeing model runs like this again.
  21. After waking up and reading the latest model thread, I was feeling quite sad about Thursday's potential until I had a quick look at the UKV model. There seems to be some more of a trend from the latest models of less elevated convection, allowing the sun to clear and some CAPE to build in the south-east corner, along with some surface based T-Storms. Although I would miss out on this scenario, it could be something that is worth taking note of.
