  1. What is going on with this sounding? It looks like it may have been struck by lightning
  2. It was sad to miss out on the storm, but these mammatus have made up for it!
  3. I think that for Friday's potential, it looks like I am too far south. The AROME and UKV, and pretty much any other model, break out storms on Friday afternoon/evening across the Midlands and N England. Obviously there is still time for that to change, but I am hoping that the stuff across the Channel delivers something.
  4. Not often that you get the whole country covered by a warning, even though they are 2 separate ones, it is still good to see!
  5. Mention of a supercell has me excited! Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days.
  6. I agree, and think that the best chance at least in the SE is probably Friday, which is shown by the big spike in the ensembles. In all honesty I don't feel that confident about this week, but that is mainly just a gut feeling.
  7. I don't think I have ever seen such a big, consistent spike in the CAPE ensembles! Hopefully as sign of something...
  8. Like @Zak M said: Welcome to another episode of impossible charts! On S3 Ep.1 we have an exciting feature of 3000j/kg of CAPE across the country displayed beautifully by the NetWx-MR! Will probably never happen but still fun to look at! Come back tomorrow for more on the reality TV Show: Impossible Charts!
  9. It's absolutely bucketing down outside. I checked the radar and it looks like I have a few strong cells training over me, so that's exciting! Regarding this afternoon's T-Storm potential, I actually wouldn't mind getting nothing if it continues like this.
  10. I'm a bit confused by the MetO thunderstorm update, it seems to talk more about the persistent rain, and says that the risk of thunderstorms is 'isolated'. Doesn't exactly sound like it deserves a warning then? Please correct me if i'm wrong.
  11. To be honest I am not sure how unexpected it is, given that the Met Office had a rain warning for lots of the areas you mentioned. But I do agree that it was more rain then I thought would happen, and like you said, that is definitely welcome! It's also a nice surprise to have those early T-Storms in the channel.
  12. I woke up this morning and saw that my rain gauge had a lovely 16mm of rain in it! Lovely for the garden whether it was from convection or not.
  13. Right now I would really do anything to be 1 mile north. These cells are just completely teasing me.
  14. While I was about to complain on here about storms trimming me by less than a mile, a juicy cell popped out of nowhere and looks to be moving toward me. Knowing the way things go, it will shift track at the last minute, but looking good for now. To be honest I have no reason to complain whatsoever because of what I have seen earlier today.
  15. Don't know if this another funnel cloud, but noted rotation on timelapse as a small but heavy thunderstorm came in. I can't believe my luck!
  16. Hello.... Is this the National Weather Service? .....Yes I'd like to report a funnel cloud....
  17. Thank you as well as I didn't realise there was a zoom-able, movable version of Sat 24!
  18. Even though I'm not in it, I'm super excited by this more southern moderate risk today! Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days.
  19. If you have Netweather Extra then you can turn on rain accumulation on the V8 radar and on the past 1 or past 3 hours then it gives you a good idea of where they are headed. Other then that and looking through each frame I'm not sure I know of any special technique!
