  1. Bit of an eerie day today; birds really active (unlike me, over indulging in cheese, turkey and ham). Tonight's storm really does have the potential to pack a punch, doesn't it? Then, hoping that with our elevation, we may see a little winteriness on Monday. Enjoy your Boxing Day x
  2. I think it is for Saturday / Sunday. Not looking great, although exciting for us weather freaks
  3. Heavy hail here.....so noisy (but nice to hear). Gutted to be in tier 4
  4. It's nice to see that it's going to be cold at Christmas (can keep all the drinks and veg cool outside!) . The rain has been relentless here today
  5. It's lovely there, just up the road and the most fantastic views! When we had the epic snow of 2010, we drove up there in our Landy, they were closed due to the adverse weather, however, saw us in the carpark and invited us in to warm up in front of the open fire and gave us a free drink! Happy memories of Botley and the snow drifts!
  6. What an utterly miserable, wet, cold day!!! If only all this heavy rain was snow on a dry and cold ground.
  7. Taking a photo of this wonderful cloud formation and was then going to take a photo of the beautiful sunset, however, somehow managed to get this reflection (so got both in one photo)!
  8. Flooding in Biggin Hill (only at foot of Salt Box Hill, which is renowned for it) and in Malden (Surrey) I understand they had really bad flooding! Nothing more here....gutted really! However.....there maybe more to come, so fingers crossed! And, then I'm pretty sure we're due an epic winter !
  9. Lightening now and moderate rain...not so much thunder now. As a child I remember being told to count between the lightening and the thunder and that would tell me how many miles away the storm was...... still count today Edit....heavy rain now!
  10. Rumbles of thunder all round at the moment, very dark.....but just seems to be toying with me (better than nothing I suppose!)
  11. We bought an industrial fan today......it's like sitting in an open top aircraft (need my ear defenders!) and the spaniels ears...well!!!! Still....can't grumble really, it is August!
  12. Clouded over here with large rain drops (very brief!). Would love a good storm
  13. I am hopeful for a frosty Christmas morning here in Biggin Hill . Sun is out today (after a brief, fairly heavy shower); , just sat watching two squirrels and two robins filling up on nuts and seed. Merry Christmas everyone.....fingers crossed for some wintry, snowy weather in the new year (a complete 'white out' would be awesome, but perhaps wishing for a bit too much). Enjoy your festivities x
  14. I don't like flying at the best of times, sounds hideous! Enjoy your trip!
  15. Really quiet when I woke up at around 7am, even sat outside for a while in the sun! Now very dark and howling winds.... off back to bed
  16. Wind has suddenly dropped after a very intense shower and now a rainbow. Pretty crazy weather
  17. Torrential rain here and a beautiful rainbow
  18. It's been cloudy and somewhat cool today?! Was expecting more warmth and humidity. Sun finally made an appearance at around 3.30pm, which heated things up rapidly, however, we still have a pretty keen breeze, which is lovely. Looking forward to some storms and then perfect summer conditions for next weekend.
  19. Lightening and thunder.... love it. Heavy rain too
  20. Very heavy rain here atm .....looking forward to some lightening .
  21. Good morning! I wonder if someone might be able to help me. I bit of a long shot, however, a friend of mine has asked if I can recall the dates of around 2/3 months ago when we had particularly high / damaging winds (London / Kent area). They need these details for insurance purposes. Any assistance would be gratefully received! Many thanks Scrat
