  1. LI of -6 and 2,400J CAPE on Sunday???!!!! This will be my reward for the past month of A levels :-) (Just two to go)
  2. Very heavy rain now On the radar this shower looks one of the more intense but I wonder if it'll get electrified?
  3. It seems we're just on the edge now... moving extremely slowly.. moderate rain. On the radar it is moving mainly south but very slightly east. Getting heavier
  4. Nothing here yet Dogs, must be moving slowly because you're only a mile or so from me!
  5. I just went outside - feeling humid outside, as though we could get another shower/storm. Dark clouds over Gloucester way, backed up by the radar...
  6. Hmm was just about to post that Gloucestershire & SW have a warning out for heavy and possibly thundery showers.. ...then the forum crashed... (or was it just me?) Still, looking hopeful for some interest
  7. Heavy-looking cell in the Hereford/Ross area at the moment I wonder if it and the stuff over East Wales will reach us.
  8. Come on Paul! If you can do this: Then eating a 72oz steak is a walk in the park! Plus, it could save your life. If you do get caught by a tornado, the extra weight from the steak might be just enough to keep you rooted to the ground whilst the lighter people get vacuumed up into the storm!
  9. Quite excited about the possibility of the first storms of the year. Sun has quickly broken through the cloud, so the insolation is getting going which means that hopefully convection can start early on. Feeling humid.
  10. Looking at the latest NAE and the totals are staggering - if much of this falls of snow there could be some interesting headlines over the next few days! I'm thinking Edinburgh and Aberdeen look well placed for some disruptive snow, really getting going from about midnight. http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/nae/2010/03/30/basis12/ukuk/rsum/10040112_3012.gif Looking forward to hearing from you all up north!
  11. Yes, thanks for these updates. I was actually showing a Swedish family round my school/6th form yesterday, they said what a cold and snowy winter it had been.
  12. Just been on a bike ride... snow heavy at times up on the hills. Wet snow in Cheltenham but not settling. The snow was just starting to accumulate on the hills by the time I headed down.
  13. LOL you miserable lot Just got back from a bike ride. Some pretty heavy snow falling up on the hills, enough to make me have to squint at times, in order to see properly without getting snow in my eyes. Started to settle by the time I headed down. There is wet snow in Cheltenham but not settling.
  14. NAE is showing plenty of precipitation around on Sunday and Monday, but what will it be?
  15. Yes. A very interesting week coming up, but volatile model output at the moment! I might just resort to the old fashioned method of looking out the window...
  16. Took a trip up Cleeve Hill earlier this afternoon, with a friend. Quite a bit of snow left up there from yesterday. The depth was very variable but on average it was probably around 2-3 inches, with deeper patches up to ankle deep and the occasional knee deep patch where the snow had drifted off the sides of a gully. A respectable amount; more than I had expected.
  17. The Midlands disappeared for 40 days and 40 nights under 40cm of snow.
  18. There is a covering of snow in Cheltenham now. However as mentioned above it was odd having rain in Cheltenham but snow in Gloucester earlier. The main band of snow missed us just to the west, meaning that places 5 miles west, and in particular only about 15 miles north have had several inches of snow.
  19. Anyone in the vicinity of Upton on Severn? Looks like that area hit the jackpot today in terms of snow totals.
  20. Snowing now and actually settling! I think the area just south of Worcester has hit the jackpot - Upton on Severn.
  21. Hi Ian, any idea what is expected to happen with the front later? It seems to be all to our north and west now. Perhaps it will rotate back south or have we seen most of today's precipitation already?
  22. Boring drizzle here at the moment. Waiting for something to happen!
  23. Just looked at the radar, seems to be intensifying and moving a bit more northeasterly now!
  24. Yes it's back to sleet here. Hoping some of the heavy ppt. moves up from near Bristol.
  25. A very unsettled picture, looking at the radar! Potent looking areas of precipitation to the south.
