  1. It's a beautiful morning, which I would be out enjoying if my cleaners weren't due in an hour so I'm stuck in tidying up. However, the sun is shining, the sky is mainly clear and it looks like being a great day, so I'll get out later. Temperature got down to 6.6deg.C at 00:24 and is now up to 18.1deg.C, humidity is 54%, wind is 0 to 3mph southerly, pressure is at 1023.8hPa steady, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 3/8 but high, thin and wispy.
  2. Today started off well enough with maybe 3/8 cloud cover and coolish but the cloud steadily disappeared through the day and the temperature increased, while a steady but light southeasterly breeze stopped it feeling stuffy. Maximum temperature was 18.6deg.C at 16:49 up from a minimum of 6.6deg.C at 04:26, maximum humidity was 93% at o4:36 and the minimum was 47% at 18:14, maximum wind speed was 9mph at 16:20 but generally is was 2 to 5mph southeasterly, pressure has been around 1027.0hPa steady all day, there was 0.2mm of rain that fell in the early hours of this morning, and cloud cover has reduced steadily to 0/8 this evening.
  3. Been a decent if predominately overcast sort of a day but what's really noticeable is the rate of growth in the garden. The wild areas (i.e. the bits that are wild on purpose,) are bursting into colour right now due I guess to the ample quantities of heat, sunshine and rainfall that we've had recently. Temperature currently the maximum for the day at 18.5deg.C up from a minimum of 6.5deg.C at 04:22, humidity is 69%, wind is 2 to 8mph southeasterly, pressure is 1023.7hPa steady, there's been no rain the the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 7/8.
  4. Wait a minute, it's stopped hailing, Clouds are clearing, puddles draining, Sun is shining, gee that's better, Maybe today I'll go back on to Netweather.
  5. Right, that's it, game's a bogey, ba's on the slates, summer is over and the toys are being thrown out of the pram. The sun has gone and it's now completely overcast and dull. The temperature made 17.5deg.C a couple of hours ago but it's now down to 16.8deg.C, and the humidity is stuck at 75%. Furthermore, there was 1.0mm of rain early this morning to break a 7-day dry streak. A complete absence of wind and pressure at 1018.9hPa steady means that it feels just a tad muggy outside. I'm off in the huff then.
  6. Maximum temperature today was 24.5deg.C at 14:46 and the humidity got down to 42% at 15:14. All in all a lovely day. Still light, just, but the temperature has dropped to 11.6deg.C already.
  7. Another grand day. Just enough in the way of puffy white clouds to prevent the sky from being boring, plenty of sunshine and about as warm as I feel comfortable in. Taking my mother for lunch at the hotel down the road today. I offered to collect her but she insisted on driving down herself, but she can't do two journeys (12 miles!) in a day so she'll just stay overnight. That'll be salad for tea then as she can't eat two 'big' meals in a day. I don't think I have any salad. Do cold chips count? Temperature 21.1deg.C up from a minimum of 9.1deg.C at 05:33, humidity is 58%, wind 2 to 7mph northwesterly, pressure 1016.7hPa falling slowly, there's been no rain all summer (2 days so far, we'll see how long that lasts,) and cloud cover is 2/8. She's here!
  8. Today turned out to be the warmest day of the summer here, reaching 24.1deg.C at 17:23, at which time the humidity was 43%. I missed this record-breaking event because I was having a nap, which was a momentous meteorological misadventure that I may record in my memoirs. Or maybe not.
  9. First day of summer and it's a belter. Three more months of this please. Temperature 21.8deg.C up from a minimum of 12.2deg.C at midnight, humidity is 58%, wind 2 to 5mph southerly, pressure is 1017.9hPa steady, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 4/8.
  10. It was a lovely day around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs but as the land rover doesn't have a temperature gauge (or anything else really; the speedometer only registers 'slow', 'less slow' and 'irresponsible',) I don't know what the stats were. I'd forgotten how narrow and tortuous the single track roads are in that part of the country and the constant steering inputs and gear changes have resulted in my hands resembling grapefruits. Thankfully the excitement of a two-ton cart yumping its way up the east side of Loch Lomond didn't restart any cardiac arrhythmia and I mostly missed any oncoming traffic. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the temperature maxed out at 22.5deg.C, which in isolation would make Spring here seem quite reasonable.
  11. Oh you poor thing. I went on an Outer Hebridean island hopping camping trip a couple or three years ago, starting off from Oban to Castlebay and worked my way up to Port of Ness and then back down via Tarbert to Uig on Skye. Just endless deserted white beaches, camp sites on the shore, charming old houses, cozy pubs, wild roads and splendid cafes and restaurants. And a nice lady I met who invited me to fiddle with her one Friday night in a pub. Unfortunately, since the onset of rheumatoid arthritis, my fiddling days are bye. It was an awful experience and I strongly advise everyone to stay well clear. It would be terrible if it became popular. Getting warm here already. 19.7deg.C up from a minimum of 9.1deg.C at 03:11, humidity is 40%, wind 0 to 2mph south-southeasterly, pressure is 1022.6hPa falling slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is barely 1/8. My cleaning ladies, Spit and Polish, are here early today "because of the bank holiday" (?). They'll be gone in 15 minutes. Then I'm off to Inversnaid for lunch, then a drive round to the Inverarnan Inn for tea and back home via the smallest, most quiet roads that I can find. There's optimism for you.
  12. When I got home yesterday I found a bird sunbathing on my lawn. The tits were out. My mate phoned to invite himself down for some beers but my daughter arrived first and took me into protective custody up at the farm, which was fine as it gave me a chance to catch up on the progress of her geese, or Christmas lunch as I like to call them, and out of the eight eggs in the nest on the island in the pond they appear to have successfully brought four chicks through to a state of fluffy yellowness. Today is very warm and often sunny. Maximum temperature was 22.7deg.C at 13:26 up from a minimum of 7.4deg.C at 05:11, humidity is currently 58% wind is 0 to 3mph south-southeasterly, pressure is 1028.0hPa falling slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 4/8 but variable.
  13. What a nice day to get out of hospital, although any day would be a nice day to get out of hospital. Looks like it'll narrowly miss hitting 20deg.C today, which suits me fine as I'm not that keen on hot weather. Temperature got up to 19.8deg.C at 12:33 up from a minimum of 10.7deg.C at 01:44 and it's currently 19.6deg.C, humidity is 69%, wind is 0 to 3mph swinging from N towards E, pressure is 1030.0hPa rising slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and although cloud cover is 8/8 it's still a bright day.
  14. Today was a bit pants, really. Wet pants. Temperature went from 2.1deg.C at 00:04 to 10.7deg.C at 14:26, humidity 88% at 02:22 to 66% at 09:18 and currently 87%, wind 0 to 16mph swinging ENE to NNW, pressure has dropped from 1007.1hPa at 00:22 to 997.5hPa at 20:25 currently 997.8hPa steady, there's been 4.8mm of rain today and cloud cover has remained 8/8 throughout. Yesterday, on the other hand, stayed dry and sunny all day, which allowed the land rover assisted tidy up to be completed without any weather interruptions, and more importantly, without interruptions from angry agricultural types with their dungarees round their wellies as the removed pipes were indeed redundant. There was a surprising amount of 'urban' rubbish found in the field though, so I think there will be further such outings.
  15. It's a nice day here, warm, calm, dry and occasionally sunny, which is just as well as my daughter has asked me to take the land rover up to the farm to haul some supposedly redundant pipework out of the ground in one of her fields. To be honest I'm approaching this task with some trepidation as I'm imagining the scene half a mile or so up the brae where some sorry individual will suddenly find themselves exiting their bathroom backwards though the external wall still sitting on the w.c. that's connected to the other end of said pipe. Alternatively, this same person will be idly going through the personal ads in the local paper and wondering what that loud but distant bang was as one of my half-shafts lets go in dramatic fashion. Either way I'll update you all later. Temperature 13.4deg.C up from a minimum of 4.3deg.C at 05:57, humidity is 52%, wind is 1 to 5mph northerly, pressure is 1005.5hPa rising slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 6/8.
  16. It must have been a bit breezy overnight as the bird feeder stand was ripped out of the ground at some point, probably around 07:36 when the wind hit 22mph. Still windy enough for me to have to chase my hat down to the cafe when I went for lunch earlier. Temperature 10.4deg.C, humidity 81%, wind 5 to 10 mph swinging from west of northerly to east of northerly, pressure is 993.2hPa and rising quickly, there's been 3.6mm of rain today and cloud cover is 8/8.
  17. A damp start followed by a dry day until the rain started at 20:05. Temperature max was 10.7deg.C at 08:33 up from a min of 6.2deg.C at 00:40, humidity max was 91% at 00:50 reducing to a min of 73% at 13:23, wind max was 17mph at 14:48 with direction swinging from WNW to N throughout the day, pressure max was 1019.6hPa at 00:00 falling to min of 990.5hPa at 23:39 and still dropping like a rock, there's been 1.8mm of rain today and cloud cover was 8/8 all day.
  18. Today started off looking like it would be the reverse of yesterday in that it was sunny and almost cloudless early on and then convective cloud bubbled up and by lunchtime my guess was it would be overcast and dull by teatime. Not so. The cloud is breaking up noww and it's been a great day so far. Temperature is currently 15.2deg.C, humidity is 60%, wind is 4mph southwesterly, pressure is 1019.6hPa rising slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 3/8 at the moment.
  19. Glad to hear that you're mobile again. Showers in the early morning, (9am, early for me,) cleared up quickly and the cloud cover had mostly disappeared by lunchtime and completely by tea time leaving a sunny, warm day for the most part. Maximum temperature was 15.2deg.C at 17:03 up from a minimum of 1.9deg.C at 03:02, max humidity was 93% at 06:07 and min was 54% at 14:25, wind was generally 0 to 5mph southeasterly, pressure rose from 1010.1hPa at 00:02 to 1015.5hPa at 23:13, there was 0.4mm of rain and cloud cover reduced to 1/8 through the day from 5/8 early on.
  20. No, @Hairy Celt, not quite, but I refuse to be shamed by a crock of cretins whose limited intellectual capacity leaves them mired in sectarian, bigoted and racist beliefs that reduces their ability to express their identity to anti-social, tribal and moronic destruction. However, I still feel that the Pollokshields episode, combined with the inspiring scenes at Hollyrood last week when the MSPs took their oaths in their first languages to make it evident that Scotland is a country of and for the people and not a state built on control of the people, shows more accurately what our national values are. We're still 2-1 up. Currently dry and sunny.
  21. The cloud to our southwest is breaking up nicely now although the unbroken puffy white cumulous to the north and east look to have settled in for the day. Still, it's reasonably warm and with only very light breezes it's a nice day. Temperature has risen to 13.9deg.C up from an overnight minimum of 2.9deg.C at 01:57, humidity is 59%, wind 0 to 5mph southerly, pressure is 1007.3hPa steady, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 5/8.
  22. What a splendid day, despite a forecast to the contrary. Was up in Clarkston at my mother's for lunch, which we ate outside in her plastic garden. Car thermometer was claiming a temperature there of 18deg.C and it's fairly accurate. Temperature rose to a maximum of 16.2deg.C back here at 15:51 up from a minimum of 3.3deg.C at 01:59 and is currently 14.2deg.C, (which to me is sitting out weather,) humidity is 63%, wind is 1 to 10mph south-southeasterly, pressure is 999.1hPa steady, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 4/8 with scattered big, puffy, white clouds allowing plenty of sunshine through.
  23. Pardon the double post but I meant to say before how delighted I was to see the actions of the good people of Pollokshields yesterday. Up until then Weegies were mainly known for giving terrorists a good kicking, even when they are already on fire, because they arrived here intent on harm. Yesterday however displayed the other side to Glasgow when, in total defiance of the Little Englanders in charge darn sarf, the population rose in defense of foreigners who had arrived to join us. Makes me proud to be Scottish.
  24. An unremarkable day altogether, at least up until now. Fridays have become rather dangerous since my pals designated my garden as the low village beer garden, which two Fridays ago ended n a wasted Saturday and last Friday descended into a lost weekend. Here we go again... Temperature currently 11.3deg.C following a maximum of 12.3deg.C at 13:25 and 6.3deg.C at 03:32, humidity is 72%, wind 0 to 8mph southeasterly, pressure is 1011.0hPa falling slowly, cloud cover is 7/8 but no too thick and there's been no rain in the last 24 hours. I'm going out now. I may be some time.
  25. A dry day with a lot of brightness and even periods of sunshine. Altogether very agreeable. Maximum temperature was 14.7deg.C at 15:25 and the minimum was 6.0deg.C at 00:00, humidity ranged from 89% at 00:00 to 68% at 13:24, the wind ranged from 0 to 13mph mainly north-northwesterly, pressure went from 1010.7hPa at 00:00 to 1014.3hPa at 22:56 and is rising slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover has varied between 3/8 and 5/8.
