  1. agree, it's been dire in this neck of wood for snow and to be honest i can't really see any sign of anymore snow soon with the snow showers in the north sea keeping north of the humber...as you say, maybe a slim chance for thursday. nice to see all the other areas get their snow though.

  7. same here lincs. have been waiting for this storm all afternoon , then just as it reaches here it dies to give light rain . i think i light sea breeze undercut the storm and killed it. better luck next time.
  8. things are very much the same here reef. despite 4hrs of snowfall we only have a dusting here and i,m much further inland than you, so you are not alone.

  12. not sure whats going on here but temps have risen from -1 an hour ago to +.5c now and the thin layer of snow is beginning to melt...doesnt bode well
  13. i too was very saddened to hear of the death of jack scott. I will always remember his own particular style of presentation on bbc weather and more especially on thames news in the 1980,s . I feel he represents the last of a breed that learnt meteorology the hard way through the forces in the war and then at the met office before finally presenting the weather in a no nonsense way on the tv. from all that i have heard he is a true gent and have heard him called "gentleman jack" probably for a very good reason. as a tribute i will upload some forecasts made by him on thames in the 1980,s...in the meantime here is a link to one forecast with jack that i uploaded some time ago on you-tube. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-C-PsDg-ric we will all miss you jack and thank you for your contribution to weather forecasting for so many years. rest in peace.
