  1. pouring with rain here now!...looks like goodbye cold spell
  2. Ice pellets here too, mixed with snow. wonder if it will turn back to heavy snow yet?
  3. It's been raining here for most of the afternoon and it's really eating into the snowcover now. Wasn't expecting this today!
  4. Same here mellis. Still snowing heavily and settling well after a slight thaw today.....current temp 0.4C
  5. I,m beginning to wonder if the snow will ever reach us on the lincs coast. looking at rain today radar that snow is really struggling at the mo!
  6. May be a bit early to pick up on trough location atm grimsby snow lover but nice eye candy all the same!
  7. I wouldn't say all guidance is heavily weighed against the gfs, in fact it's a very plausible outcome....i for one hope the gfs is wrong from the point of view of renewed flood risk and more sulking in this forum!
  8. Iv'e been lurking in the background of this great site since it first began and to be honest iv'e never seen such confusion in the models before. Am i not alone in being quite pleased with the outputs of the last few days, if only that it has gone from an endless mild SW'erly and rain to where we are now in just a few days. As one of the possibly more senior members on here, i remember very well the absolute model mayhem that preceded the infamous spell in jan 87. The BBC forecasts changed every day, sometimes the threat of cold and then vice versa the next day. All of a sudden the models came to agreement and the record cold set in within a few days.(I assume this could have been caused by a large SSW also) now i'm not saying we are going to be dumped in the deep freeze just like then but what i am trying to say is that whilst the models are in such a state of flux, there is no point speculating and the best thing to do is watch and learn as i've got a feeling something pretty goods going to turn up soon!..maybe not from the first shot but maybe more likely from a greenie high. just sit tight and enjoy the ride!
  9. funnel cloud spotted about 4 miles east of louth, lincs about an hour ago. still plenty of thunder rumbling around.
  10. same here matty. all the action was about 5 miles south of here. had a few rumbles and a couple of distant flashes and a few spots of rain. i believe some areas around lincoln etc have localized flooding
  11. cancel that. i,ll go for north-east lincs a few heavy cells just popping up now almost overhead with very heavy rain!
  12. yeah, i,ll have £10 on boston, spalding or holbeach...certainly wont be up here, never is! lol
  13. i think there is too much high and mid level cloud in this area for any convection to take place. a nice clear slot would be very useful!
  14. gut feeling tells me things are'nt right for this area...hope i,m wrong though.
  15. same here matty, fingers crossed, as been very storm starved in this area this year!
  16. nice cell gone up nr grimsby just moving off into north sea. can see the beasty from the window.
  17. just heard on local radio that a roof has been blown off a house in grimsby. looking on the radar a very intense cell has just passed through there. squall line? tornado???
  18. some great looking cu towers here but as yet as dry as a bone, although radar seems to be bursting to life now.
  19. another cell just popping up north-east of rugby. good luck all those in the firing line!
  20. yep just had a couple of light flurries here in louth, maily granular type snow.
  21. snowing steadily in louth now. It seems the showers in the north sea seem to be intensifying and gathering into streamers. kev
