  1. Looking good for my guess of 220 spotless days, just need another run like the last without any TINY pesky spots spoiling things!!!
  2. Thanks, very useful. Spaceweather only ever showed that spot when it was barely visible.
  3. Very clear visible? I check Space weather every day, the spot in question was barely visible from the start, the fact it disappeared so quickly says it all IMO. I can't see how on earth the spot in question could ever have been visible from earth. Anyway, blank again...
  4. Well it's todays date with the image below, Can't see a thing, can you?!
  5. It looks spotless now, can't see a thing yet Space Weather claims there is a small spot! Must be a single pixel! I'm going for 220 spotless days
  6. It will be interesting to see what the polarity is of the latest spot. I read somewhere the last spot had reversed polarity which would indicate the start of the next cycle! Hope that's not the case.....
  7. Blank again.....yet I see two spots (one yesterday & one today) that aren't counted? In the past I've seen much smaller spots that HAVE been counted?!
  8. Looks like it's down as I get the same message. It was working this morning though!
  9. I can't see that being counted, quite silly for space weather to even mention it, can't see a thing, even zoomed in 500%!
  10. or even 30-40 odd years, that would be very interesting too
  11. IF our winters start to get colder again this will be very interesting...... Current Stretch: 10 days 2018 total: 38 days (53%) 2017 total: 104 days (28%) 2016 total: 32 days (9%) 2015 total: 0 days (0%) 2014 total: 1 day (<1%) 2013 total: 0 days (0%) 2012 total: 0 days (0%) 2011 total: 2 days (<1%) 2010 total: 51 days (14%) 2009 total: 260 days (71%) Is there another source other than space weather that shows the historic count (using the same method) that goes back further?
  12. So we've now reached 2016's total. Let's hope the runs get longer & we surpass 2017's total by August.....
  13. Pictures!! Quite impressed with the snow showers we've had today. Something tells me the forecasts (I've seen) aren't handling the low that is due to hit later this week correctly. Me thinks we may get a pasting......
  14. Well I'm glad I didn't believe the hype and get excited. This cold spell isn't even that cold let alone snowy! Thankfully this winter as a whole has been much better and the best in 5 years here. Hoping the solar minimum brings some good winters.
  15. Models are all very well & good but TBH the December event (which turned out to be the most snow I'd seen since 2013 ) was not forecast well at all for us here. Keep your eye on these two for a much better idea of where things are heading https://en.sat24.com/en http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  16. Can't see that when I checked online? Showing yellow warnings for south east??
  17. I'll eat my hat if what actually happens is anything like what the computer models are showing. Been here many times, this place goes into meltdown and zip actually happens. Hope I am wrong but until the event actually starts feet firmly on the ground. The forecasts back on December 8th were incorrect, forecasting heavy snow when we had none and vice versa. Comparing these fantasy charts to the likes 0f 47, 63 , 87 etc is just bonkers. Hope I'm wrong and will need to get the shovel out again next week but somehow doubt it......
  18. Can anyone actually see todays spot?! I've zoomed in & can see nothing....
  19. Thanks. I meant to say last few days not times.
  20. What's up with Spaceweather? They are showing spotless again today but there seems to be a spot on the sun?! This has happened a couple of times in the last few times now. Technical issues?
  21. It was great while it lasted but heavy rain is turning what is left quickly to slush. Such a shame as it was feeling very festive. Maybe one day we will get a long period of cold with a decent dumping of snow 2010 was cold but I think we had more snow here last weekend? I was in Telford at that point in time and we had lots of snow days but I think Shrewsbury missed out??
