  1. The irony, & errm, he already started it........ http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/79537-is-2014-set-to-become-the-year-the-naturals-flipped/ Typically all they can do is try & insult people.
  2. I wish I had got my backside up the Long Mynd now! Surely would have seen something up there??
  3. Hahahahahaha. Watch out, that will have the cranks spouting their superior intellect etc etc. No doubt with some "new" graphs thrown in for good measure.
  4. Everyone is entitled to a POV, it's a free country. However someone in authority who was talking to MP's should not be banding theories around like confetti John. However that may well be a result of pressure from said MP's, who knows? Others can read the links, watch the videos etc etc & make their own minds up but please don't put words in my mouth & claim I was referring to her meteorological knowledge.
  5. I wasn't referring to her meteorological knowledge, nor is it relevant to what the post was about. The fact is she said one thing in 2010 to explain colder dryer winters & has now completely changed her mind. Read some of the comments on those articles, like a lot of people say is there ANYTHING these people won't try & pin on global warming/climate change?! Couldn't agree more.
  6. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2012/mar/14/met-office-arctic-sea-ice-loss-winter http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/04/12/english-winters-back-to-normal-julia-blames-global-warming/ http://www.itv.com/news/2013-04-10/met-office-investigating-arctic-link-in-record-low-temperatures/ Busy with work at the moment but will look to see if these comments were ever published on the met office website. From the video.... I can't find the one link that looked pretty credible but basically she seems to say what fits for the current/recent time. Anyone can do that.
  7. Yep I plucked it out of thin air. Well, I simply drew a line on the graph. With regard to CO2 being evil perhaps you could tell all the world governments that it's not a problem. If it wasn't evil I wouldn't have just paid £475 to tax my family car for a year because of its CO2 emissions. Not that their logic of taxing CO2 will make one blind bit of difference to "climate change". Now, must do some constructive work that pays the bills, some of us don't have time to make 10000 posts of gloom on an Internet forum.
  8. Yes those graphs sure do look BAD.... Or does it...... Which goes on..... Doesn't look quite so alarming with the pink line does it? The fact is the next few years will be interesting. If the temps continue to stall or even, heaven forbid, dip down they will have new theories of why temps are just not following that evil CO2.
  9. The comments section also has some good reads.... http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/04/15/the-un-disappears-50-million-climate-refugees-then-botches-the-disappearing-attempt/ http://web.archive.org/web/20090217054716/http://maps.grida.no/go/graphic/fifty-million-climate-refugees-by-2010
  10. John, have you read Julia Slingo's comments following the cold winters? Forget this wet winter for a second & read up on what she said back then. Then tell me you could take anything she says seriously.
  11. As you are obviously reading this Devonian my quote above WAS from you. The first part of my reply was with regard to my quote of GW. If you scroll up & READ the thread you would see that. To make it easy here it is again
  12. So, according to GW forget winters like the VERY recent past, they are over & now we have warming of 2-4C to look forward to. Sadly no time scale of that prediction though.
  13. So there you have it. We will never see a winter like that again. Regarding the second point I honestly can not recall in my life a winter that has been "cold" (what's cold?) from early December until the end of March.
  14. As for some reason Knocker has felt the need to cross link this thread with another (not sure why) here is what a quick search found. http://www.thegwpf.org/julia-slingo-2012-climate-change-linked-colder-drier-uk-winters/ Well I've not had chance to even read it but the headline seems to suggest that is what she said? If not I'd be wanting that site taken down if i were in her shoes. From :- http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2012/mar/14/met-office-arctic-sea-ice-loss-winter Which is dated 2012.
  15. Priceless. Is that article 100% correct?
  16. I'll remember that post!! You could easily have said the same in the 80's which wasn't quite the constant snow fest arctic ice house some seem to think it was. Over various posts your predictions of doom range from this year to 2017 to maybe 2020. No science hasn't moved on. They constantly change the predictions to fit with the current day thinking. What is blue today is black tomorrow.
  17. Rather than try & have a dig at people (btw, personally speaking got a great life thanks, married two great kids ) can we get an answer to the question?
  18. Well if my memory serves me correctly it all started off as "global warming". When that didn't quite work out it changed to "climate change". No doubt if we have 30 years of cooling it will still be blamed on C02, "climate change" covers all bases.
  19. Lol. But you still replied? Not a whole 0.70 above the ,51 - 80 average? Wow. Just just wow. Why are we back to '51 until '80? Its 2014.
  20. Sorry but again the reply makes no sense? Post to the sceptic thread a polar maritime? Anyway. Co2. Is it a "greenhouse" gas? If it were I'd expect to see the co2 concentration graphs follow temp. They don't. What's your point?
  21. Nothing to do with maybe lots of building work from a growing population? Hard surface=greater water run off?
