  1. The met office radar you scan scroll forward for radar prediction. Whitby looks to do well. North Northumberland coast might do ok but anything in between I think can pretty much forget it
  2. Yeah I'll repeat what I said this morning that places like Redcar to Whitby look to get the bulk of activity. Think I'm a bit too far inland to catch anything so looking towards early February now
  3. -5 here this morning. Definitely feels nice and fresh. Not expecting anything here now so will be looking onwards towards the end of January. Models maybe beginning to sniff out some amplification towards scandi. It would definitely suit us better to pull in some east/north east winds
  4. The early December cold spell did have a small system move in from the west I think on the Friday which deposited a fair amount although I think it was more of a small trough rather than a shortwave like today's. There is slightly milder uppers associated with the shortwave but fingers crossed having it moving into really cold air we should be ok for the majority
  5. Apps are showing sleet forecast here but TV forecasts this morning showed it as snow. Temp has just hit 1c and certainly still feels cold enough. Spose time will tell
  6. The system and precipitation is beginning to work west to east rather than NW to SE. It's just wether it can make it across the Pennines.
  7. A day of radar watching I think. Plenty precipitation around. Hopefully some of it will make it over the Pennines around dinner time
  8. The cold hasn't even got here yet and we are worrying about what's happening in 7days time. Nwp could be over reacting to a signal in which case whole ensemble suites could be incorrect and means well smoothed out. If the Atlantic does barrel through then so be it. Pointless getting worked up over it. It's only weather
  9. I think it'll come down to radar watching. Mainly dry week apart from possibly early Tuesday but we will see. Hopefully something will pop up at very short notice
  10. I think the flow will just be a wrong for us this time and we'll stay mainly dry and frosty. Would actually suit me tbh as it's a welcome break from the damp squib that the 2nd half of last year was. Signals look to be pointing towards Scandinavian height rises towards the end of Jan and into February so I think we may have to ride it out until then
  11. Could be one of these times the gfs finds a signal. Looses it and brings it back closer to range. I didn't really get the @Scott Ingham day thing as you had mentioned a few times the cold could land couple of days either side as you can't pin down the lag exactly. Anyway keep it up.
