  1. North Staffordshire and the Peak District has been the sweet spot for snow this winter. Still a very poor winter overall
  2. Yes, generally wet and windy but turning more settled in the south next week. Mainly mild and Fridays snow risk reserved for northern England and south Scotland
  3. Ridiculously mild again. Sitting in a warm conservatory at the start of February !
  4. ECM is again quite unsettled. Probably will not verify. Here is day 10. I guess at least it will be mild
  5. EC46 has shown high pressure dominating this winter so I would say it hasn't done too badly
  6. 12z GFS dominated by high pressure. Nothing too exciting at this stage - no severe cold or mild
  7. We have had 3 spells of snow, 1 in November, 1 in December and 1 in early January. 5 days of snow falling and 8 days of snow on the ground
  8. Lovely and warm in our conservatory today which is very unusual for January. Looking like 15c by Tuesday
  9. Double figure temperatures for many this week before a temporary cooling off on Friday. Both UKMO and ECM suggesting some wintry showers by the end of this week ECM for Friday 850’s
  10. Not much of interest in the 18z GFS apart from a brief cold snap this coming Thursday and Friday
  11. Sadly, the ECM is poor tonight. All hopes are on the UKMO being correct tonight
  12. Hopefully, the UKMO 144 chart this evening for next Thursday/Friday will verify and we can enjoy at least a temporary spell of wintry weather. Probably a good covering for higher ground.
  13. It’s going to be milder than most of January for the south where temperatures have been below average. Unsettled ECM but no real cold signalled for the next 10 days
  14. Looks like the complete opposite for February as we see more unsettled weather across the UK. The south will be milder than recent weeks but the north will be cooler with snow for many. Here is the UKMO 168
  15. Although the outlook is generally mild it’s not looking particularly wet especially in the south.
  16. Met Office 10 day forecast suggests no snow for the UK and generally above average temperatures throughout. Meanwhile over the pond, they are preparing for a North'easter and 1 foot of snow
  17. BBC suggesting 15c on Saturday for London. I’m not seeing this on the models tonight?
