Rain washing the snow away this morning. Still some patches of snow and I can see a good covering over the Peak District. -

Those temps are way lower than what the ECM are showing.

Heavy snow here. Good covering Stoke a good spot for snow again this winter

GFS is on its own again. ECM/UKMO/GEM all going for milder weather and no frosts next week.

Oh, in that case there is very little to suggest any colder weather at the moment I am afraid to say based on 00z ECM/GFS and 30 day Met outlook. However, we may still get some wintry outbreaks as many have witnessed these last couple of days.

Consistent with recent output that next week will be relatively settled and mild especially in the north and west.

That was GFS only. Same as the Christmas freeze up which never happened -

Agree. We have had snow on the ground (2cm+ falls) in November, December and January. I can remember far worse winters! -
Models continue to suggest a prolonged settled spell lasting until at least middle of January. 2nd half is still up for grabs

Need to compare ECM 168 and UKMO 168 - very similar. GFS all over the place every 6 hrs as usual

I’ll go against everybody else and suggest the ECM is horrible for cold weather. Mild from Monday onwards

I tend use the ECM, Met office 10 day trend & 14 day updated forecast. None of these suggest anything wintry after tomorrow. However, there is still a week or two left of January and quite a few of us have seen some good snowfall today

UKMO 12z not offering us anything cold next week. All eyes are on the end of January now for potential cold.

Another snowy day here this winter. 6 days of snow on the ground since November and 4 days of snow falling. Not too bad considering the generally mild winter so far -
