  1. Let me be the first to say, merry xmas all! Long may the models show good fortune.
  2. Annoying when ppl use words like 'pouring' and 'chucking it down' when talking about snow.
  3. Just been enjoying Russell Howard on the box, ah yes it has indeed been snowing. A slight dusting. ^^
  4. Nice one, well I am quietly confident that it will be snow. How often can you say that Grimsby in the past joins in with 5-10cms of snow with the likes of Louth coupled with some days were the temperature has never risen above freezing point? Interesting for a coastal location you must admit. Out of interest how far is Conisholme from the coast? Not a lot right? I assume thats the place with the reservoir. Heres hoping for the white stuff.
  5. Mince pies are plentiful at this time of year I hope you have some. Whatever happens it was always going to snow, the question is how much? The answer is - very little. The radar showed a system probably in the region of 60-80 miles wide (North to South) - and the 'eye' showing the Greens and dark blues was so tiny. The rain band has shrunk dramatically in the last couple of hours - nothing more than light snow for anyone north of nottingham.
  6. Hehe native tongue. Quickly off-topic... funny how after 13 years after the demise of Humberside, and Grimsby once again becoming part of Lincoln-shire people still use this word. I still receive post with the H word on and I often go out of my way to tell them they have my address wrong.
  7. I can't really see this front giving much in the way of snowfall, seems like a non-event. Personally I'd rather it stayed dry than ... rain.
  8. Funny how when exciting-low temperatures are being shown more than 10 days in advance no-one really believes it will materialise yet when mild temperatures are being shown the majority believes its definitely on the cards. I think people have to be more open minded and not look past 4 days as the best weather forecasting models in the world aren't really that great after all.
  9. I went out this afternoon to top town and the temperature was -2c Considering we are right on the coast it is rather unusual given that some posters have been reporting temperatures in Doncaster (perhaps 40miles away?) reaching +2 today.
  10. Nice to hear the snow has spread so far west. Would it be safe to assume that South West England and the Midlands are the only ones not fairing well?
  11. Driving back home from Louth to Grimsby last night at 1.30 was very tricky. Almost as if the minimal amount of grit was put on the roads. ^.^ Turning off at North Thoresby to reach Tetney revealed my first real life sighting of ... wait for it.. a snowplough! The last time I saw a snowplough it was driven by Homer Simpson.
  12. Evening all, Just enjoying a quick read. Just had first power cut of the season, had to dig around for candles and sit around in the darkness for over 2 hrs. Good times. :o
  13. Well good night all, hope we see more snow in the hours to come! I must do some work soon, have a band coming on tonight.. they are nowhere to be found I hope they didn't venture to far! Just been asked to announced there are now officially no taxi companies willing to ferry anyone home in Louth! And unfortunately (awww) the hotel is fully booked! Have a good evening all.
  14. I've read loads of posters from Lincolnshire; myself included. But yes anyone from Lincoln, Skegness, Boston out there we'd love to hear from you? Grimsby is in Lincolnshire dont'cha know! Only a brief spell between 1974-1996 were we apart of the dreadful Humberside! On the same topic; it still infuriates me when people refer to Humberside in the media.
  15. So beyond this band seems a gap over a couple hours and then possibly scattered light showers. Whether they will reach as far as the Humber I'd be interested to find out. Is there any a further snow forecasted during Sunday and into next week?
