  1. Yeah he is at his family's house. Although he lives/has lived in Louth previously.
  2. Been what maybe 4-5 years since Louth had white-out conditions. I remember taking a looong detour from my previous workplace *In Sprunehorpe just to check out the area It won't let me type scun-thorpe O.o
  3. True that, very windy. Would be great if it slowed down over the top of our region and gave a dumping.
  4. Snowing readily now albeit the fine kind, wanna see them juicy big flakes.
  5. Screw them lol What about us! Nothing more than a flake all day.... a slight dusting ~.~ Watching the national news is depressing. Come on! Give us some!
  6. Well here in Lincolnshire I've no idea what the ground temperature is, but its snow lightly atm and every flake it sticking easily sir.
  7. ...... please oh dear god change the title.. idk if anyone else has mentioned it, but that is blasphemy. E Yorkshire and Lincolnshire will suffice.... jesus christ Humberside was removed from the map over 12 years ago and still we are constantly reminded whenever we fill an application form online. Grimsby is in Lincolnshire, Hull is in Yorkshire. How can someone get confused which area they area in! Please remove that god damn word. >.< And PS. Yes I know the 'Authority' I am in is North East Lincolnshire, but the county is Lincolnshire *points to the third word*.
  8. Yeah great weather, frosty in places all day. Temperature never rose above 3.5c according to my car. With having such a close proximity to the north sea this bodes well for the coming winter.
  9. To be honest I think we are all wrong.... the definitive answer is.... It starts when it wants to.
  10. Oh it got moved to a new thread lol hmmm Well the point I was making was the seasons follow the equinoxes that has been the accepted norm for 1000s of years (am guessing, ok so a long period of time) where as the so-called meteorological winter has been existence for a fraction of the time. The former uses a natural occurrence (the shortening and lengthening of day vs night) where as the latter uses a man-made fixed position (for convenience/laziness) - the gregorian calendar.
  11. I hate to be pedantic, but Winter DOES NOT START until the 21st of December. If you mean the Meteorological Winter then fine, but please be crystal clear. Everyone knows the difference, the term meteorological winter is used for statistical purposes only it doesn't change the fact that Winter begins on the 21st December even if the weather itself doesn't reflect the season. Its such a pet hate! Grrrrrr Edit: I seem to recall this happens every year lol
  12. Apart from the horrendously low volume seems like a good idea, but I sorry guys I couldn't enjoy it :/ Buy a cheap mic from maplins and stick it on the table also.
  13. Well my strong knowledge of the local area is that there are only 5 tall tower blocks (1 is the old BT Exchange building the 2nd is the old victoria mill house which is partially converted into flats), and the other 3 are about 12+ flights high-housing, not sure about Hull, as for Lincoln its fairly low-rise. Sure glad I wasn't living in any of them! Oh and lets not forget the Dock Tower itself, anyone confirm its earthquake proof? I hear the foundations itself were made to take some sway, probably regarding the wind.
  14. Light-hearted jokes, but I hear some people in Hull are still in temporary housing thanks to the floods that occurred last summer (lol i was in my own earthquake around the same time in greece). So though I am sure little or no damage has occured I think its not funny to jest 'at us forgotten people in the north'.
  15. And yeah the brickwork, that was scared as hell. I gotta little damage outside to my porch! And the BBC24 news presenters referred to Hull as in Humberside (which was abolished back in 1996, that really Tutses me off), funny really it clearly said lincolnshire on the screen, and Hull is actually in the East Riding of Yorkshire lol Lol, ok so we didn't get snow this winter...but
  16. The epicentre I have found out was in Cabourne, Lincolnshire, 30 miles South from Hull, no wonder it felt strong.
  17. Is the red square the EpiCentre? Link
  18. I dunno about the epicentre, but i think it was here in Grimsby. I leave in a first floor flat and the house shock like crazy, my last earthquake was in Kavos, Greece last year and that was 5.7 on the richter scale, this 'felt' much the same, though nothing was falling off shelves or anything! So with my lack of knowledge i would say it was 5.0 easy. It must have last 20 seconds easily. Relived it was an earthquake actually cos 3miles away there is loads of chemical factories. Felt like an explosion, no word of a lie! W.O.W.
  19. Heavy snowfall here in Grimsby, Lincolnshire for the last 15 minutes. Nice big flakes, looks set to continue. Car thermo. registered 3C about an hour ago before the snow, under clear skies.
  20. Grimsby: Car Thermo: 1.5c Clear Skies, Hard Frost, looks like we had a very slight snow shower.
  21. Overnight very cold, widespread icy and in the last 30 mins it has started snowing. Only fine snow here at the minute ahead of whats left of the main band which should arrive in the next hour. Settling readily. Not really what I would post on the MetOffice as 'Heavy Snow' lol who they trying to kid
  22. Some lingering Fog here and there, cold. minus 2.5 deg. C
  23. Sunday Temp: Car Thermo 33.5c at 14:45. Monday Temp: Car Thermo 21.0c at 00:45, and confirmed at same temperature on a local news centre building. Grimsby, Lincolnshire. It's been a scorching, expectionally warm and muggy.
  24. last 3 months, 4.66, 4.08, 4.52 according to n-w tracker. so am going for a 7 degree CET value of: 7.2
