  1. I'm one for a good winter too so I did enjoy the snowy period during them years. I personally thought there seemed a decline in thundery weather but that may be down to a imby view, the s/e did seem to benefit well from good thundery periods.
  2. tbf after 2006 it went downhill so I can't blame you there.
  3. I was in my second to last year of secondary school that year, I always remember having a 12ft pool in the front garden and spending endless days in it, probably one of the first iconic summers i can remember alongside the great summer of 95.
  4. You've missed out 2003, epic summer
  5. Interesting looking skies this evening, hopefully a sign of something interesting weather wise for tomorrow
  6. Same here, except I call them men
  7. Already starting to see signs of a change here from the s/w
  8. Just shows how selfish society can be sometimes
  9. We can only hope and pray that change is on the horizon I for one hope that August is that change.
  10. I'm one who is a lover and enjoy the heat but can't help but feel thankful for being on the cooler side of the jet stream at the moment (please don't flame me for saying this.) Can't help but feel sorry for all the locals and animals in Rhodes at the moment escaping the wildfires due to the intense heat, homes being burnt down, all the while twitter is full of tourists complaining about displacement and having to spend a night in a sports hall knowing they will soon return to safety and their homes (I'm in no way shaming anyone.) Can only hope this stuck pattern soon budges to not only give us in the UK something summery to enjoy but relief to the countries burning away. Greece holds a special place in my heart and my thoughts go out to them.
  11. Remember it quite well as June 2004 I was taking my GCSE's, remember it being very warm almost hot at times and agree on it at that point feeling like a repeat of 2003. Also notable as one of the most thundery summers with plenty of thunder days and nights, not long after was when I would say I started to notice a decline in thunder days.
  12. Agreed and I can't remember the last time we had a good overnight storm, definitely think their declining. Its got to be back in the 90s/early 00s when you were guaranteed a good night storm or that could be me fondly looking back with rose tinted specs.
  13. A chart from fI but is there promise on the horizon for something a bit more summery
  14. Second that on a laugh button, there are some genuinely funny posts on here and rather than bogging up the thread quoting a post with a laugh emoji you can react to it
  15. I can second you there, normally my bathroom gets inundated with them, something about the led light they love it, but hardly seen any.
  16. Hot, definitely not but I can see why for some it can be and agree when factoring in the breeze, humidity and the time of year. Pushing onto 30's then getting a bit uncomfortable.
  17. I bet it did, that's your summer heaven
  18. That's got to be a glitch surely, daytime maxes of 8°c in July at 3pm
  19. Getting brighter to the s/w, followed the rain band as it was coming through and now chucking down some heavy drops. looking like the action is going to the n/w of here. some photogenic cloud scapes though.
  20. Really hoping it don't die before it gets here looking good though
  21. Starting to go really dark to the west, assuming this must be from the storms over Shrewsbury
  22. Been getting progressively darker to my s/w this last hour, having a look at the lightning radar there seems to be some action near by, hopefully might get stormage happening
