  1. Well that was a b**t for us in the Midlands, sky looked really promising especially yesterday evening to the s/e was hoping for one last hurrah before the year is out but oh well we can't win all, really enjoyed looking at everyone's vids and pics posted yesterday
  2. Fingers crossed hoping they come up this way, looking very active on the lightning map for anyone along the south coast as said by other members it's mad to think thunder in late October with Halloween only just a week away, just goes to show how much our climate is warming
  3. Grey drizzly muck today, if its going to rain then at least give some decent stormy conditions to coincide with autumn, really hoping for some frosty/foggy autumn mornings soon, as much as I'm a lover of warmth and heat this drag out of mild conditions is getting a bit too unseasonal now.
  4. Never too early for a winter jumper and i'm a lover of both cold and heat........ I'll see myself out
  5. Lovely towering cu to my West possibly from the storms passing that way, I'm currently not hearing any thunder as of yet
  6. Had some pretty heavy rumbling around 3:45pm looking out the window couldn't seem to spot any lightning although the sky was looking very primed to my west and east, constantly darting from one side of the house to the other trying to track it. Just looking on the radar now it seems there's a right cluster over us although they look to be decaying but the sky to my east is looking like it's telling a different story
  7. Died off a bit here now, lightning was very infrequent but some immense flashes right across the sky, uploaded a couple of videos hoping there the correct ones VID_20220905_213019.mp4 VID_20220905_211815.mp4
  8. lightning maps currently lit up, again looking like last night a right cluster going up the country, fingers crossed things are looking good
  9. Seems to have gone quiet by me hoping there's more to come currently just heavy rain, its great to see some storm action further north instead of just confined to the south (no offence to anyone ) lightning maps are lit up through the central belt of the country, hoping for more to crop up a bit further west
  10. Woke up to what I thought was gusts of wind and quickly realized when the trees were completely still it was thunder, definitely moving in a N/E direction with where the lightning is, only had a couple of cc flashes
  11. Feeling rather humid out there at the moment, got that very thundery feel to it and also looking so too, I know there were some storms forecast for this weekend so hopefully they'll be some activity before the season closes for the year (apologies if this should be in the convective discussion thread)
  12. A bit slow to get started but once it did it certainly delivered in these parts, granted July had a bit of a cool cloudy spell following on from the record breaking few days but August has been the best for a long time for me I'd say since 2003, 1995 I have vague memories of only being 7 at the time but I still remember it being an absolute belter but 2022 has certainly made up for the cool anticyclonic cloudy gloom fest that summer 2021 was in August, only thing I will say has let it down is the lack of thunderstorms something the 90s and early 00s had plenty of but apart from that its been a good one
  13. The fleecier the better or a good chunky knit, I'm one for my winter woollies
  14. In all honesty I've had the fleeces and jumpers back out since last week, really starting to feel the temp drop now
  15. On the talk of spiders, the ones you see running across the floor and popping out of nowhere are males looking for a bit of spider lovin also I recently found out that if you evict them and put them outside they end up dying, not sure the reason why. On another note its been the invasion of moths here the past few days, not that they bother me I find them quite fascinating and also been much fun for the cat she's having a great time chasing them and hunting them down
  16. Well the BBC definitely overcooked the forecast for rain amounts today, was supposed to be rain from early this morning through to evening time (amounts were subject to change) but instead its starting to break here with the sun coming out although that'll be good for any storm activity today supposed to be some thundery showers this afternoon
  17. Sat here at going on 5:30 and very surprised how dark it still is, probably doesn't help the fact its cloudy and wet but a shock to the system considering a month ago it was light at this point and also how quickly it went dark yesterday evening, found myself having to put the lights on around 7:30pm
  18. Interesting to watch but that was way too fast for my eyes at 5:23am
  19. Unfortunately no thunder to report but some much needed heavy rain from around 10ish last night and has only just stopped so a good watering for the ground. Just a shame there was no electrical activity
  20. either way it certainly looks interesting
  21. Looking very interesting from all corners just now not sure if anything will come of it but certainly looks thundery
  22. Noticed a big difference in daylight hours this evening had the lights on by 8pm although I don't think it helped the fact it was the first cloudy day for about a week, this warm sunny spell made a difference in when it started to drop
