  1. Some people can't just "deal with it". Almost as bad as the hot weather are people who like hot weather and expect the rest of us to like it too.
  2. Charts looking good for next week with much cooler fresher weather and a bit of rain too. It'll be great to see the end of the steamy muck we've been suffering for the last few days.
  3. Next week's charts are looking good at the moment. If any of us are suffering with this current humid spell rest assured relief is on the way, with a cooler, unsettled week ahead.
  4. What's this talk of cooler wet weather next week? Have I missed something, although I'll admit I no longer look at longer-range charts nowadays.
  5. Not sure for where you re but MetO is saying 23/24c for my area by the end of the week and into the weekend. I just hope the humidity doesn't come back.
  6. Well it's still too warm out there but the humidity is falling nicely now. Hope this cooling trend persists for a while. At least the awful soupy humidity has gone!
  7. Absolutely vile weather at the moment! This is a mish-mash of all my least favourite summer weather - heat, humidity, thunderstorms and WaRm SuNsHiNe. At least the mad thread seems happy though.
  8. At least you have air conditioning. When we get the hot weather here most of us aren't as lucky.
  9. I suppose the one crumb of comfort is temps aren't especially high; certainly for my neck of the woods it looks mostly mid-20s but I agree the monotony and protracted nature of this weather will grind many of us down.
  10. Not long to go until the longest day so on the one hand the days will soon start getting shorter again soon, but we have another 2-3 months' worth of muck to wade through in terms of actual weather. However, summer is but a fleeting thing in the grand scheme of things and in a couple of months' time the countdown to autumn will be in all our minds. Roll on!
  11. It's almost as if not everybody has the same tastes in weather as you. "Strange folks"? As opposed to those who want temps in the high 20s weeks at a time, and warm oppressive nights? And just because the heat and humidity is part and parcel of summer doesn't make heat haters like it any more, and is the main reason many of us hate summer.
  12. Met Office again with their "lots of sunshine on offer" nonsense in the summary. When will they get it into their heads that not everybody wants sunshine, or warm weather? Fortunately it looks like being quite cloudy, especially in the mornings so it won't be too bad.
  13. People can take supplements. Why are people on this forum so obsessed with SuNsHiNe? Getting tired of it here. Sunshine sunshine sunshine.
  14. I'm missing Autumn and the cooler, cloudy weather already. Not sure I can endure another 3 months' worth of this.
  15. A pleasant, chilly morning to wake up to, somewhat spoiled by the abomination that is summer which is just around the corner. I hope and pray that summer 2023 will defy expectations and be cooler than average! We shall see.
  16. Looks like the showers are clearing away from my area now. The activity we had on the radar is moving away from us towards the East Midlands.
  17. Sunday 27th May 2018 is one that sticks out for me. Incredible lightning, near constant thunder, hail and even some localised flash flooding - I remember the road outside my house looking like a river with the amount of rainwater that was flowing along it. It also went incredibly dark, almost like dusk. In fact the street lights came on at one point. The Met Office had issued a yellow warning for storms that day, but just while we were in the absolute thick of the action it was upgraded to an amber warning. "Bit late for that" was my first thought.
  18. That's a pretty peurile analogy, but one I come to expect from people who would inflict 3, 4, or even 5 months of sweaty, insect-ridden misery on people.
  19. I hated every minute of that heatwave. In some ways August's was worse than the heatwave we had in July, since although it was less intense it was more protracted. I dread the summers that we may get in the coming years.
  20. Personally I would love a "traditional British summer" this year, as in mostly indifferent, some cool showery periods and a couple of heatwaves followed by thundery breakdowns, with temps broadly around average. Is that too much to ask for?
  21. Today is a nice illustration of why I tend to prefer sunny weather in the Spring than the Summer - the Sun feels pleasantly warm out there now but it's still cool enough that I can tat around in the garden and not sweat. Now once we reach mid/late May, it gets too hot when it's sunny (at least for my taste).
  22. Who are you to judge whether we should have more or less of whatever kind of weather you, personally prefer?
  23. For what it's worth the older I get the less I like the heat. Personally, I'm dreading the onset of Spring and Summer this year and I will not apologise for that.
  24. It's been snowing for a good few hours here but zero accumulation. It's nice to see some snow at least but with zero lying so far and with milder weather set to return soon it all feels a bit wasted to be honest.
  25. I still remember last summer's nightmare heat so if you don't mind let's not wish for a swift return to warmth, even if this cold spell does end up being a dud. There'll be plenty of time for heat come May-August.
