  4. All about the timing for today, front moves too slow it will fade out, too quickly just rain, just at the right speed it could explode over midlands like the front did over western france yesterday.
  5. Paul Demari, hereford & worcester - going for hot day with strong sunshine, winds from east, south east. 27c to max out at 32C this afternoon overnight cool fresher weather and thunderstorms overnight , fresher tommorow morning. didnt seem that confident on widespread storms.

  10. Good luck everyone, the temperature difference ahead of it, and behind the rain should be enough to cause storms. As last night showed, 2am onwards the storms that hit Liverpool were able to survive and become electrical during night time.
  11. Some of the best castle turrent Accas I've seen here since august 1992 (and later that night we had a huge MCS from France)

  14. Managed to drive about 30 miles west of my location and catch the Wales storms as they trundled north through the evening. Quite small cells, but potent little buggers that put down fair amount of rain. Lightning caught on HD video below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtjeZGaEwbY
  15. I noticed a lot of the bbc local forecasts on media player are not going for rain or showers turning fresher, rather than Hot with thundery breakdown. Did the very active cells last Thursday take all the energy out of the atmosphere?
  16. Yes it is! few more flashes just then, looks like the stuff coming from the sw has just turned active whooo
  17. Thought I just saw a faint flicker towards Hereford direction. wasnt car lights too high up in the sky.
  18. There could be something moving up somerset, bristol, into the welsh marches overnight. I wouldnt rule out anything west of cheltenham
  19. Viewing the Midlands storm from a distance earlier.
