  1. Not surprised storms did not develop, the majority of yesterdays French storms were surface based.
  2. The storms were surface based not elevated so the channel could kill them off, although they were transfered to more elevated as we go towards tomorrow morning.
  3. Compared to last week, these storms do not seem elevated, they are are being spawned further down in the atmosphere. Managed to catch this strike as it moves off north towards channel isles.
  4. Supercell like features now.. getting a bit scary even for me staying indoors.
  5. Currently under the blob in NW France, scary at times with shotgun thunder but visible lightning is hard due to day light
  6. Here she comes.. Towers sprouting up all around now, ahead of the possible SC
  7. Rainfall rate is 150mm + per hour of that Nantes storm, intense activity.
  8. Camera is all packed, current temp 28C with humidity at 80% sun is shining but difficult to walk for long outside, the heat is very draining. I'm directly North, North East of the Nantes area - looks early stages of an MCS in that location.
  9. Indeed keep me posted, as what happens in Limousin will have a direct impact on Brittany also in terms of expected conditions/humidity, and thus what happens in North France will have an impact on channel isles and Southern UK. With this air flow everything is interconnected. Rennes alerts are now showing Level 2 and Level 3 warnings.
  10. Calm before the storm - cloudy here in North France, no activity at all through France at the moment but the sunshine is breaking through. Could be a major day
  11. Just a warning, there is a lot of cloud overspill from the Mid France storms, which could peg temperatures back for southern UK if any storms occur during Thursday.
  12. Already cloud spilling up from the south on the latest Sat, maybe some areas might get an unexpected storm today.
  13. Thursday looks more promising for me in Saint Malo than last week, more of a westward pattern, so rather than cells moving NE into Belgium there is a chance they will move up towards the West, and towards SW /S.England.
  14. I'm in Saint Malo, Northern France, the wind is gusty here today but the next few days should be good. Heat due to move up from the South tomorrow, with the Low centred out west Thursday should see storms move west, with more of a chance for Paris/Belgium on Friday.
  15. The GFS 06Z is a huge uplift and sigh of relief, the low has been pushed further west, with a plume now in place for late weds/thursday.
  16. Here in St Malo, it was a pleasant day 22C but the wind was very cool.
  17. Or Ferry over which is from £39 from Portsmouth. (I did this recently for family purposes, but also added bonus of storm chasing)
  18. Great enjoy the night ahead was much warmer here in the NW than expected today.
  19. The cloud in NW France is nothing to be concerned about yet, I am right under it, there are a few spots of tropical like rain but it's mostly light showers spawned off because of the afternoon heat, the real stability will come overnight when the airmass from the west pushes east.
  20. Baking afternoon here in Brittany, now clouding over from the South, South West. Expecting heavy showers or storms to fire off between now and morning.
  21. Way over to France from UK? or. Way over to NW France? Your journey over should be interesting if after 9pm
  22. Just been to get lunch here in NW France, the wind has dropped right down, very still and more humid. Can feel it now really starting to bake.
  23. I am currently just over the channel in St Malo, France. So will be keeping a close eye on things in the next 48 hours. Estimated temp today was 19C, it ended up being 22-23C so a good sign. Will keep the board updated on developments over the next 48 hours.
