  1. Oxford /Newbury seems like a reasonable area, especially any high ground facing east.
  2. Not very scientific I know.. but as a general rule of thumb, I would expect thunder to be in places tomorrow night that have not had that disturbance in the atmosphere as yet, so perhaps Gloucester/Reading/London into EA.
  3. That looks like a radar grab from about 10pm last night I know it's not but the areas seem oddly similar.
  4. Some great storms last night to the north, wonderful pictures. Awful timing for the south, it really is all about the "timing" if this area from France had moved up 6pm last night would be very different. Tomorrow night does look better for the south though, better timing, more heat energy ahead of time.
  5. And with it getting dark, should be some nice late night flickering up to 50 off miles radius.
  6. The characteristics , it's isolated, intense etc. Very supercell in nature. I call . supercell
  7. Where abouts in Powys, i'm near Knighton and this is just SE of me. few rain drops from it.
  8. This happened while I was in France a few weeks back, wasnt until later in the day it really got going. How far west in the Midlands do you think?
  9. Oh what a mistaka to maka, it/s portsmouthwebcam.com not .co.uk wrong location sorry! http://www.portsmouth-cam.co.uk/ that is the correct link
  10. It is current the time stamp is out the minutes are correct if you check but hour is out. There were no clouds in Portsmouth at 3pm anyway
  11. http://www.portsmouthwebcam.com/tugboats/thumbnail1.jpg?1435692670812 Current Portsmouth Cam
  12. Very nice I had similar cloud to that in August 1994, later in the night the lightning was amazing.
  13. It will be a gradual eastwards pattern I think, So tonight the SW overnight maybe S Wales, then tomorrow West Side of UK, moving east, then the East/SE on Friday.
  14. Encouraging signs in the SW, if that is Mid Level over Brest then Sw England could have an interesting night.
  15. Thanks Nick, I think it will be the type of evening those in the NW will see distant flickers of lightning from Anglesey direction.
  16. Good signs already Temps have already exceeded the GFS max of 24C reaching 26/27C already.
  17. I think a lot of the activity might be at night, especially mid level (similar to July last year)
  18. The GFS is still holding strong, looks like Wednesday night and Friday will be classics.
  19. I have been every year since 1989 missing a couple during that time, but even a big fan myself might give it a miss this year. The sun trap of that airfield is intense even in 20C temps
  20. They may have been once feeding from above when crossing the channel, but over here yesterday they were surface based.
