    Seen a flash of lightning half an hour ago north of here, bristol channel area

    Getting some proper heavy rain here now, been fairly light and patchy throughout today.

    Couple of rumbles here about half an hour ago after a heavy shower moved north, quiet now though, although more heavy showers seem to be heading this way.

    I'm willing to put money on Somerset missing out on any storm activity today. Too far west I think, as per usuall .!.

    Proper hammering it down here in Bridgwater , Somerset. Not expecting any thunder though, but local weather forecast on bbc said may be an odd rumble or two .

    I'm prepared to sit up all night as long as theres a chance, no work tomorrow.. But will definately have to stay off the Thatchers if I stand any chance of staying awake.

    Showers seem to be gaining intensity as they reach the south coast, heading towards my area. Bridgwater Carnival today. Should be interesting.

    Should be touching down here shortly. Although not thundery,,, I welcome the rain... I also personaly like to watch the cloud formations as such a front approaches. This is,, as I understand, an unusualy deep low pressure system approaching our shores for this time of year. Lets take it as it comes as you can't do anything about it, so just watch and admire the beauty that is nature... I love thunderstorms, which is the main reason I joined this site,,, but at the end of the day, weather is weather,,, very unpredictable. I'd love a thunderstorm as much as the next person, but as nature is..... Wait you turn.... Oh yeah by the way NO storms since 2009..

    A few I mages taken throughout the years. I think maybe a few have been posted on here before. Right then!!!! I thought I had this Link business sorted last time, Andy Bown sorted it for me. I can't seem to display the images on the page. Could someone help me with this... Would prefer all images to be shown on the page without viewers having to link through them all.     My knowledge on weather is nowhere near any of the other members on here, but we just had a very dark line of cloud which passed over here with all of a sudden gusty winds, and the clouds on the leading edge were quite low, and they appeared to be getting sucked up and spinning a little. Very interesting to watch. Its now passed and we are now left with a murky looking grey coverage of cloud. Would this be a gust front?? No thunder either by the way. Again appologies for lack of knowledge

    Lots of heavy showers here this morning, I thought the forecast was to be dry when I looked yesterday. Another area of heavy rain approaching here from the south-west now.

    Couple of images of an approaching shower, just rain though. A ;little blurry, as I got the camera wet whilst on holiday and has'nt been right since Not used photobucket for some time and can only post links to photos, not sure how to get then on the forum page??

    We only had a short lived shower here in Bridgwater, more showers approaching though, so should see some more rain at some stage today
