  1. Today has yet another clear start with plenty of sunshine. It became noticeably humid and the sunshine became slightly hazy behind very thin cirrus. The afternoon cleared again before a bank of cloud blew over bringing the odd spot of rain and a loud bang of thunder. Since then - it has been a lovely, sunny evening with altocumulus castellanus towards the west. Highest Temperature : 25C Current Temperature : 19.5C Rainfall : 0.0mm
  2. There's been a layer of stratocumulus over all day though the sun has just gone up and a warm and muggy 25C has been reached.
  3. So far, after some early morning sunshine, it has clouded over with a layer of stratocumulus covering. Temperature is about 18.5C - still quite warm.
  4. Beginning to see a wall of heavy cumulus congestus cloud come towards us. Some virga has been noticed coming from the base of the cloud but still warm with a temperature of 21.5C. Ah - I've just seen a drop of rain - very big drop of rain but the sun is still shining.
  5. Congratulations August - you have given me the first morning where I can go out running in mild air. It's been a lovely, sunny day here in Bristol. The skies were clear all morning but a patch of cumulus has been seen to the west and there has been increasing cirrus in the last hour. Temperatures peaked upto a high of 28C (in the shade!!!) at 3pm but have now fallen to a constant 26C. And the better thing is - it hasn't been humid at all.
  6. It's been sunny all day with a high of 24.5C (BBC). Clear skies most of the time. Beautiful starry night - and more to come through this week!!!
  7. Another sunny and warm day with mostly clear skies- scattered fair-weather cumulus but not much to write home about. Maximum temperature reached 24.5C at 15.30 but now has settled to a pleasant 19C.
  8. There have been mostly clear skies this morning. A few bits of mare's tails and virga in the sky now. Temperatures now reaching 20.5C after an overnight low of just 9.5C.
  9. I've seen every thinkable cloud in the sky today. After a clear start, the usual cumulus began to bubble up. A few cirrus passed over but turned into some rather weird-looking virga or almost pseudo-funnels. Next came a mackerel sky shaped like a goat - you think, but this is true. The afternoon cleared up before seeing a large cloud having lenticular features and a base of undulating character. Very spooky - and to round of the day I went and watched the sun go down behind a cumulus cloud on the moors. There is now a white toe nail hanging in the sky towards the west.

  12. Finally the fireworks have stopped I've just seen a shooting star for about five seconds!!!
  13. Been in bed an hour or maybe less. Got woken up by ruddy fireworks Clear and dry - 16.5C
  14. The cloud lingered for the best part of the afternoon giving sparodic dispalys of mammatus. There were a few spots of rain but the cloud has just cleared and I'm just watching the sun going down. Current Temperature: 18C Goodnight Gute Nacht Bonne Nuit Buenas Noches Buona Notte Boa Noite
  15. Well, no thunderstorm, no rain either. Oh, hold on, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I told you I would scream. I'll try and get a picture of that mammatus and post it but there have been problems with my computer recently so don't keep your hopes up too high. Highest temperature: 21.5C Rainfall: 0mm
  16. RIGHT - I'VE HAD IT. IF I DON'T GET A STORM SOON I WILL SCREAM I WANT A THUNDERSTORM - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
  17. Cor blimy - I think I've actually heard a distant rumble of thunder, or maybe it was lorries on the road?
  18. We've just had a 30-minute patch of warm sunshine but the sky is growing dark with psychedelic mammatus. The sky is literally black towards Bristol itself. There is a rain cascade heading straight for my house but behind it I can see blue sky. Maybe I'll get a shower here

  20. Yatton, Bristol NOVEMBER After a very wet start to the month with severe thunderstorms and torrential rain it was very dry and rather cloudy. There was a spell of snow on the 19th and 20th. DECEMBER The start of the month was very cold with snow showers. It was then another quite cloudy adn dry month. There were a few wet days and Christmas Eve was the wettest with a thunderstorm dropping 22mm of rain in just 4 hours. It snowed on Christmas then was cold and generally dry until the end. JANUARY In total there were three days with thunder - overnight 7th/8th, Sun 9th and Wed 12th. The first half of the month was very wet at times but the second half was much colder with significant snowfall on the 22nd. The closing days were dry and very mild for the time of year. FEBRUARY This February was the 3rd February in a row with below-average rainfall with only 38.5mm registered. It was a very mild start before becoming damp and wet in the second week. The half term week was cold with frosts and the last week it snowed every day with a minimum of -12C. Winter also crept into the beginning of March bringing thundery and wintry showers on the 4th and 5th. So this has been one of the driest winters for a long, long time.

  22. Oh, I see. I quite like the sense of blustery showers and impressive lightning. Reminds me of autumn.
  23. Weather in European Cities (According to the BBC) LONDON - Sunny Intervals 21C PARIS - Sunny Intervals 21C MADRID - Sunny 39C ROME - Sunny 34C BERLIN - Sunny Intervals 19C PRAGUE - Light Showers 19C MOSCOW - Sunny 28C Well, atleast London is warmer than some places!
  24. A huge black cloud sitting overhead giving a display of undulatus and mammatus. However, clear skies to the southwest. There's just been a storm in Durham apparently, have there been any thunderstorms anywhere else???
  25. Poor old PersianPaladin - getting all the rain and showers. However, it's about time the southwest got a thunderstorm. We haven't had one since Monday 4th July 2005 and I was cooped up at school. In Bristol there are hints of sunshine but still 95% overcast. 21C
