  1. The sun is now coming out but there have just been two very loud thunder claps to the north. Bristol City Centre should be getting some heavy rain according to the black sky - if anyone lives around Bristol do tell us. There are still some rumbles here and there.
  2. Raining lightly but large raindrops - clearing from the south. 23C
  3. EDIT: Post removed due to copyright infringement. OON
  4. Just had a sharp 2-minute downpour with one rumble of thunder to the west. Temperature went from 24C to 21.5C but rising again and very sticky.

  6. Lovely sunny start with hazy sunshine and a high of 24C but clouded over at 11.30 and a lot of altocumulus castellanus. "Thunder in the air" and dark southwesterly skies.
  7. Beautiful day all day with a high of 28C !!! - the highest since Thursday 18th. It is still clear at 20C. Hot again tomorrow.

  9. A beautiful day so far with clear skies after some early-morning fog until 7.30. The temperature has just touched 22C! PersianPaladin - you shouldn't worry about a 5 degree difference in temperature. When I was in Lanzarote, we went to the beach late-morning and within two hours it clouded over and felt cold. According to the BBC, the east and northeast looks like a thunderstorm magnet for Thursday.
  10. Was lovely and sunny in the morning - turned cloudy after lunch but is now sunny again and quite warm and humid at 23C after a maximum of 24C.
  11. Beatifully sunny with clear skies and quite strong sunshine. My arms have gone red and the back of my legs. The temperature here is 25C and still rising!!!
  12. Now dry, clear with lots of stars and bl**dy freezing!!! brrr
  13. 2002 (10th > 14th), 2003 (12th - 18th) & 2004 (1st - 9th). These Septembers all saw heatwaves so will this September bring one?
  14. Dry and partly cloudy with scattered sunshine 17C
  15. It's been bright and mostly sunny since 10am but clouding over again and looks like rain on the way!
  16. Had a bright sunny start before a light drizzle shower came over. It dried after that and stayed rather cloudy but there is a torrential shower going overhead as I type with one very quiet rumble of thunder. Temperature - 15C
  17. I thought all the storms were going to give up for the day when I went out before dinner at about 7pm. This is the timetable of my stormwatch tonight. 6.45 - Huge thunderstorm over the Mendips. Went down onto the moors and almost got struck by lightning. 7.00 - Dinner. A break between the showers. 7.45 - Went out and used up 24 pictures to photograph lightning, precipitation cascades and towering cumulonimbus clouds. I should have brought my sound recorder to record the thunder.
  18. Had torrential rain and some hail last night. Stayed dry adn breezy with sunshine until now but another shower has just passed over with squally hail. It only lasted 5-10 minutes but the precipitation came own so hard that the car windscreen was obscured by rain and hail. Has anyone reported any thunder and lightning yet today. See my website at My Webpage. B)
  19. 8.5mm of rain fell overnight and I woke up at around 8.00 to an oppressive showers. It was sunny all morning and has stayed bright and breezy though I can see a shower on the way. Top temperature: - 18C.
  20. Currently on the edge of the cold front that brought torrential bursts of rain during today. Clear for about 20km to the west but anvils on the horizon. Showers? lol
  21. What happened - where did summer go? I hate having loads of rain but I guess the gardens need it. As supposed to persistent heavy rain, there were intermittent bursts of torrential rain and so it has resulted in 10mm of rain - the same as Monday's heavy rainfall. The temperature only reached 19C.
  22. Clear and sunny to the east - cloudy and threatening to the west. Now quite cold and qindy with leaves falling off the trees!!! 15C
  23. It's been sunny until about 3pm when light cloud started to blow in from the west. Expecting rain withing the next 24 hours. Top temperature was 23C at 2.30pm.
  24. Isn't it amazing how the weather can be like Spain one day and Norway the next. Yesterday had blue skies and a high of 25C whereas this morning I was woken up by the sound heavy rain on the trees in my garden - I left the window open last night. Wet and miserable it is. The BBC say it will brighten up later on and my website is also saying that to some extent. Please visit my website at www.cyclonia.zoomshare.com
