  7. Sunny start but cloud already blowing in. Looks like it might rain at some point. Current temperature is 11C after a low of 9C.
  8. Torential showers this morning easing to leave lovely cloud effects this afternoon and mostly sunshine. Thunder heard twice at 10.25 and 10.28 but no lightning. Hail though. Now dry adn mostly clear. Only got up to 14C but that is usually about average. Had 25mm last night including 7.5mm today. Very wet!!!

  11. After a dull, wet start with light rain it has cleared to be a lovely, sunny afternoon with virtually no cloud at all. Looking at the BBC forecast - not very good for the rest of this week. Oh well, got up to 19C again this afternoon. Now 18C.
  12. Rather cloudy at first then lovely and sunny until three o' clock when cloud started rolling up from the southeast. Since then, cloudy and very threatening with occasional immeasurable showers. Got up to 16C at 4.00 and now 13C.

  14. Been a lovely warm, sunny day after the fog cleared - very hazy though. Went to Hay-on-Wye and low cloud sat over the mountains but otherwise - clear and sunny and very warm for October at 20C. Now the weather can cool down big time and bring SNOW!!! Welcome to the forum snowy shower
  15. Back to the old anticyclonic gloom again. Completely obscured cloud all day with occasional and very occasional very light drizzle - nothing noticeable enough to even dampen anything. Cloud thinner now but cold. Got the fire on! 9C

  21. Wasn't there a huge depression that originiated from a tropical storm in mid-October 2002. I seem to remember hours of torrential rain and gales. Sunday 13th adn Monday 14th I think. ANyone record that?
  22. Beautiful sunny day today. Fog gave way to sunshine all day and a warm S-SW breeze blowing erratically. It is now cloudy, dry and muggy and the sky has turned thundery-looking to the southwest. Thunderstorms? I'm not fussed - it reached 21C today in Bristol. As Andy Bown says, it was warm with 21.5C on October 11th 2001 but the warmest in the last decade was 23C in 1990.
