  1. Cloudy start and rain rain rain rain rain! Cold too at 11C.
  2. Had a torrential downpour for 25 minutes in Bristol with pea sized hail and horizontal rain. There was a minor flash of sheet lightning to the northeast and a very loud clap of thunder and that was it. Very impressive though. April went out with a bang. June went out with a bang. August went out with a bang. OCTOBER went out with a bang.
  3. Started off dull and cloudy all morning after a low of 12C. The sun made a brief appearance for an hour at noon before lower cloud rolled in. There was a torrential downpour between 16.00 and 16.20 with one sheet lightning flash and a god-almighty clap of thunder but has now cleared. Currently clear and cold 9C but more showers I think. The high today was 14C. This has been the wettest October since 2001. It was only just wetter than 2002.
  4. You're right - that was Mammatus. I photographed it and it was absolutely gorgeous. The sun was setting at the time. I took the photo from Long Ashton so Tim should have seen it if looking. 10. Been sunny so far after 7mm of rain overnight, but some large cumulus heading my way from the south. 14C after a low of 13C.
  11. Been lovely and sunny here all day. Temperature has rocketed to 21C and still rising by looks of it. Clear blue skies but Wales is under cloud again. I visited the Mountain Hay Bluff this morning and it was cold, shut in, drizzly and 13C but as soon as we drove back home because of that, we were driving through Newport under clear skies. Must be the mountains affect.
  12. Had a shower of quite heavy rain for a few minutes at 2.00 but dry and windy now and CLOUDY! 15C
  13. Dry and cloudy this morning. Blue sky to the southeast. Pleasantly mild too at 14C.
  14. No showers or storms after this morning's shower. But hey - a lovely, breezy day to go walking.
  15. Lovely, sunny autumn afternoon but very windy. Despite that, mild at 16C.
  16. Had a heavy and very blustery shower at 7.30 this morning but apart from that - nothing. Most of the showers have cleared.
  17. 3 words - Bright and Breezy. Had a heavy shower at about 7.30 this morning but now sunny with light clouds. I thought they said heavy showers. I've read 15mm from last night's heavy rain and this morning's shower.
  18. Cloudy, windy and mild having reached 15C as high. Occasional rain but not expecting anything proper until later on this evening. The rain is already coming to the southern tip of Cornwall.

  21. If we're gonna get a hard winter I don't think summer will return until April time. I agree though. It can either snow or shine or thunderstorm. Current weather is cloudy, sometimes very windy and very light drizzle at times. 10.5mm has fallen so far.
